i'm jacqueline london. we begin with this attack and the surveillance video that shows it all unfolding. a home invasion that left a 73-year-old woman pistol whipped. keith jones is live where it happened. keith? >> reporter: this is the second time in a week this has happened to this woman. she was walking here behind her house. she walked up to her side door and two men jumped out of the shadows there. it was all caught on that surveillance camera. the terror happened suddenly. first a gunman in a mask. then a second hooded man. his gun pointed at her 76-year-old mother who walked us through the ambush. the first guy that came in with her had her to the ground with a g gun in his hand. you can see it. you can see the bandage. she needed seven stitches. the bruise on her shoulder. you can actually see the 76-year-old's feet appear before she's dragged back inside. minutes into the attack, they leave out the front door without taking a single thing. >> my fear was, coming home to not having a family. >> rep

her parents are 42-year-old carlos hicks and 39-year-old jacqueline hendricks. investigators say the child lives with another relative. the 10-year-old was last seen at castle middle school here on henry street on tuesday around 1:00 in the afternoon. hicks and hendricks may be driving a 1993 white chevrolet lumina with a new mexico license plate ngg- 506. similar to the car in that photo there. they may be in the bronx or out of state. the father, carlos hicks, was arrested recently in july for driving with a suspended license in that chevy. as you pointed out, the searching is happening here in manhattan and the bronx, where she was taken from. also, it's out of state because at one point the parents lived in new mexico. >> katherine, thank you. >>> there's also breaking news in brooklyn. someone killed a livery driver overnight. police have just released the victim's name. this happened in just the last hour. this is in east new york near the intersection of dumont avenue and shepherd avenue. scene this morning. >> reporter: it's a gruesome scene here where c
