for the afternoon notice most of the absence out to the west of washington -- the action out to the west of washington. a few showers on 270 about 6:00, 6:30. not the highest chance of that but i'm not going to say it's not going to happen. we quiet down tonight so we should be in pretty good shape for thursday morning. thursday we'll pop a couple of showers in the afternoon. once again the highest chance of that will be west of the blue ridge, but this front, this is going to come in here on friday. with the front around, that means a better chance that everybody sees some showers and storms and notice all the green on the map there by 4:30. we may have to go with a yellow alert and this front will continue to move away so that by the weekend, some slightly cooler and drier air moves our way. 93 today. isolated storm west. tomorrow 94. hot and humid. just a stray storm. better chance of showers and storms on friday, in the upper 80s. then the weekend. here's the payoff. 84 saturday. terps home opener, should be a beautiful day in college park for that. sunday 86. we heat up again monday

rain that moved through philadelphia earlier this afternoon but the heavy rain is still out to the west, if you look at the big picture on live double scan live radar, there is this conveyer belt of moisture, thanks to low pressure over kentucky and what this low pressure can do is track across central pennsylvania in the overnight hours, that is really the access of the heaviest rain overnight and we'll get a soaking, future tracker 6 showing the heaviest rain is in the overnight hours especially in the northwest suburbs and that lingers into early tomorrow morning, this is what to expect over the next 12 hours, this is round one, overnight rain and a rumble of thunder, we could have more than 2 inches of rain and i-95 corridor and areas southeast, a half inch to inch and a half of rain, much needed rain, it will taper off to showers during the morning rush, keep the up brels on hand, we have another storm, tropical stormaquin even have an on shore track it has an impact on our weather, coming up in the full accuweather forecast. >>> police in newcastle county are looking for vandals t

all of these thunderstorms off to the west will die down. in fact, they're crashing into that area of high pressure, and getting forced down towards washington, d.c. but there's a front right here, and this is going to drop down into the region tomorrow. and late in the day tomorrow, may bring a shower or thunderstorm, but behind the front, that's when we finally get into the good weather, the cooler weather, and the less humid weather. and that will start on friday, and go into the weekend. but tonight is going to be another warm one. we're at 73 degrees in the city. it's a warm and muggy night on mainly clear skies. with all the humidity in place, we can't rule out areas of fog into tomorrow morning. we see temperatures in the 60s north and west of the city. and then tomorrow there it is, another scorcher. 91 degrees. that will make day five of this heatwave. we could have a late-day thunderstorm as that front makes its way off from the south. from the north to the south. but then as we head into friday, we're going to see better weather.
