adam sexton, wmur news 9. tom: parents are on alert after a threatening list was found last week at nashua high school north. officials say the list was placed in a japanese animated cartoon book. the superintendent says students were never in any danger. mike cronin joins us live from nashua tonight with the story. mike: the book that this list was found in was sold online and in stores. officials say they don' t believe there were any plans by the student to harm others, but say they are taking this situation seriously. last friday, danielle and eric say their 15-year-old daughter came home from nashua high school north scared after her name was discovered on a threatening list. >> i think the mystery shrouding this is what is causing the alarm. parents are afraid. mike: officials say a student spoke up after finding a classmate with a book called it' s based on a japanese cartoon where characters can write down the names of people who have wronged them, and the book has power to cause harm to those listed.

live in laconia, adam sexton, wmur news 9. tom: police in winchester also dealt with a standoff this afternoon. a disagreement between neighbors led to a man barricading himself inside his home for about four hours. wmur' s mike cronin explains how police safely resolved the situation. mike a several hour standoff : ended peacefully in winchester in what police are calling a neighborhood disturbance. around 12:30 this afternoon police responded to a report of a gun shot on jones road. police say 35-year-old joseph legere had a dispute with a neighbor then ran to his home down the road and barricaded himself inside. the keene police bearcat was on scene and a state police negotiation team made contact with legere. several hours later police say legere surrendered and was taken into custody without incident. no one was injured. legere is charged with reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and criminal threatening. >> right now, we' re completing a search warrant of the residence. and after that, we' re going to witnesses, and go

josh: adam sexton is live with the latest. reporter: just within the last 15 minutes or so we were surrounded by heavily armed police officers, they're all gone now as they have confirmed that this suspect likely fled the area before they got here when this standoff started. the initial call came in from 20 jewett street earlier today in laconia, national just off of church street. and the call came in as an armed man making threats against someone inside his home. by the time police not here they weren't sure if he was inside or not, so they createdded a perimeter and they believe he a quite a large perimeter, lockeddown a school and had people shelter in homes. one was detained, not arrested. they used about four flash bang grenades trying to provoke a response from the home, nothing came of it. they eventually made entry and inside. they have not revealed the identity of the suspect at this point, but they do consider him still armed and dangerous. police say they'll be releasing more information within the next couple hour
