local 5's amanda krenz is here with more. amanda/bam there are a couple of reasons iowans know about this case and are intrigued by it. first of all it happened one state away in minnesota... 11 year old jacob wetterling was kidnapped in 1989 when he was riding bikes with his brother and a friend. also... it reminds many of us in iowa of some similar unsolved missing children cases. 52-year-old daniel james heinrich of annandale minnesota is considered a person of interest in jacob wetterling's kidnapping case. the reason he was arrested is because police did a search warrant in july... and they found a bunch of child pornography. right now heinrich is only a person of interest in the wetterling case... but that case sparks memories of these two young men, johnny gosch and eugene martin. johnny gosch disappeared from his paper route in west des moines in 1982 when he was 12 years old. martin was also a young paperboy who went missing in 1984 in des moines. law officers from both police departments say the news from minnesota

amanda, what can you tell us this morning? ally right now there is still one police officer at the block where the shooting took place. they say they believed three people in the car were suspects in a drug investigation. according to police... a man in his early 20s started to run when officers stopped the car. two officers and a k9 chased after the man... police say he fired a gun at those who were after him. officers fired back and the suspect was killed. the officers and the k9 involved in the chase were not hurt. no names have been released at this time and the investigation continues. we've got you covered live in thanks amanda. the officers involved in the shooting were placed on administrative leave and the iowa division of criminal investigation is investigating what happened. this is standard procedure for officer involved shootings. a home catches fire after being struck by lightning. it happened in the 600 block of college street in iowa city yesterday evening. the iowa city fire department says the fire started in

stephen: yeah, jonathan, we know that amanda jones, 56-year-old amanda jones but found murdered inside her home tuesday morning. we now know that the night before she was on the phone with a friend when she walked into her home. that friend heard her scream. heard the struggle. the apparent struggle with her killer. that friend called the call center here in prince george's county. it came through as a nonemergency call. the call taker reached out to the police who dispatched officers to the home. they noticed nothing amiss and returned and said nothing was there. the friend called again the following morning. again police went to the home. they still didn't see anything amiss. we now know from talking to police and to directors here at the call center that there was an apparent disconnect between what the individual who called the call center told the call taker and what was relayed to the police. let's listen in to the call that came in monday night. >> she was screaming at the top of her voice. it sounded like she was fighting somebody. it must have been in house when she got in the
