>> amber lee reporting live. thank you. >>> a federal grand jury indicted a disbarred attorney today on kidnapping charges. 38-year-old matthew muller was accused of a bizarre kidnap for ransom plot in vallejo. authorities say he kidnapped denise huskins in march. they originally thought the woman's kidnapping was a hoax. muller was identified as a suspect after a similar story in june. >>> an update to a story we brought you months ago. a former san francisco police officer has been arrested and charges with steals thousands of dollars. we were the first to uncover the embezzlement allegations back in february. he was treasurer of the group. the missing money was discovered during an internal audit last year, but it wasn't until ktvu fox 2 news started asking questions that a criminal investigation was launched. evans has paid back the $15,000 and he quietly resigned from the force, but yesterday, he was taken into custody in texas and brought to san francisco to face two felonies. today, chief greg surr says no

we get tonight's new developments from ktvu fox 2 news' amber lee. she is live for us at the sheriff's office there in san rafael. amber? >> reporter: ma rain county investigators arrived in portland about an hour ago. they are interviewing the three suspects and they left by hind a trail of evidence. >> at approximately 2:15:00 p.m. suspects identified in the course of the investigation in the shooting death of a trail hiker this past monday evening have been arrested. >> reporter: the three are accused of killing 63-year-old steve carter in a hiking trail in fairfax. the three did not have identification on them when they were arrested without incident with the victim's vw wagon. >> through gps technology, we were able to find it. >> reporter: the marin county sheriff says the arrest resulted from the hundreds of tips from the public including leads that placed the suspects with the victim's car shortly after the shooting. >> here is a picture of our three suspects as they were seen outside of the gas station located in west marin approximately 30
