darla. >> good morning again lori. the nypd is looking for a black bmw in connection with this shooting. i want to point your attention to the nightclub. that's where you see a number of officers standing outside the door. this entire block of east 21st street between broadway and 5th avenue completely full of detectives trying to piece together the scene. we want to show you video of the moments just after the shooting here on east 21st street. it happened around 4:00 this morning. we do know that three women were shot. now at this point we are still waiting to find out if these women were friends or if this was a random shooting, and these women were just struck randomly. these three women were taken to bellevue. this happened around 4:00 this morning outside of a nightclub we do know that the black bmw fled on east 20th street. that is the last place that vehicle was spotted. at this point, again, lots of detectives on the scene. we also have high ranking brass from the nypd here. we're hoping to get an update in th

eyewitness news reporter darla miles is talking to them outside. we begin with n.j. burkett in the funeral service itself. >> outside the church here the mournful sound of drums echoes down the street as the processional prepares to go down this long line of police officers, now six deep that stretches four officer holder's casket was carried from the church just a short time ago after a two -and-a-half-hour service. i don't think i've ever seen commissioner bratton quite so moved, quite so emotional, as i did here today. yes, as you said, he's lost four officers in less than a year. as the mayor put it so thoughtfully, the entire city is grieving. >> reporter: the rain swept across merrick boulevard as an nypd honor guard carried the flag draped casket from the church. the weather matching the mood of an entire city as thousands of police officers from across the nation joined the officer's family and friends and new york's leading political and religious figures to mourn the loss and to honor the proud legacy of officer randolph holder. >> so detective randolph hol

. >> eyewitness news reporter darla mails at the scene. >> reporter: well, joe, this was such a violent impact, seven people were involved in this accident. at this point one person is dead, and witnesses report one man being severed from the waist down. another victim had his arm severed. i want to point you to the car involved in this accident. walking along morris park there were families out here, women, men, and children. they were trick or treating. and then you see a black car coming through this intersection on morris park, attempting to make a left turn. instead of making a left turn where the cars were parked, or possibly even airborne over another car, striking several peep. we're told people ran out to try to help these victims. we're also told that some of these victims, the men from the barbershop were openly weeping because of the gory nature of this accident. the one eyewitness told me she was just seconds away from getting hit herself. >> there were a family of kids trick or treating, walking behind me. and all of a sudden like a car, like i heard the boom, and the car

reporting live in far rockaway, darla miles, channel 7 eyewitness news. >> darla, thank you. >>> the eyewitness news investigators tonight with stunning new revelations about the accused killer. tyrone howard sentenced to a residential drug diversion program but there were not enough beds so i was back on the streets, turned away from a big fall from the cracks in a diversion program that gets high marks. jim hoffer is here with that part of our coverage. jim? >> reporter: that's right. the state's drug court deversion is affected. in the scrutiny of the program following the shooting death of an nypd officer we are finding out there can be problems here. we have learned that it's not the kind of program for violent offenders. now we are finding out there can be delays to treatment and daily monitoring for lack of rehab beds. tyrone howard avoided prison by agreeing to undergo 18 months of in patient residential treatment in a drug rehab facility. but the treatment was delayed because there was no bed available. instead, the court drug program required howard to check in once a month

darla. >> reporter: david, liz, that indictment was handed out just about 30 minutes ago. we did not see the large nypd presence we saw last week at the arraignment because of today's wake. tyrone howard himself was not in court today. we did spot these women. they are presumably his family members in court there in support of howard. when approached while speaking with his defense attorney, they adamantly said no comment. the 30-year-old suspect has been indicted by the grand jury for first degree murder and first degree robbery in the shooting death of nypd officer randolph holder last tuesday along the fdr. the discovery of that 40 caliber glock from the harlem river early sunday morning was a key piece of evidence presented to the grand jury. >> the verdict on mr. howard will be determined at trial, not here. he should not be prejudged. he denies the allegations. >> now there was no plea heard his attorney, his court appointed attorney say that he denies the allegations. the no remand is continued so he does not have any bail, but this investigation also continues. ton

. >> eyewitness news reporter darla miles with the latest in far rockaway. >> reporter: the nypd continues to track down all of the suspects involved in tuesday night's shooting. take a look at this newly released video by the nypd. it was taken at the east river houses. the nypd says tyrone howard was engaged in a shoot out with these men in the minutes leading up to the shooting of 8:30 tuesday night. the two housing officers -- two housing officers on the roof of one of the buildings in that development. when they looked down and they saw the men shooting and called for backup. that backup was officer holder and his partner.
