we start with kari hall and a look at the forecast. cooler this morning. >> as you step out the door, it's cooler in the bay. 57 degrees in peninsula. a cool start to the morning but a warmer afternoon. look for highs in the 80s. it will still be breezy, but a high reaching 85 degrees in the north bay and 82 degrees in the east bay. i'll give you details coming up in a few minutes. a slowdown at the bay bridge? >> of course we have a slowdown. i want to show you that. 580 through dublin. now this shot looks just fine, but look at your map. you have a slowdown before you get there. over on vasco there's a crash on the center divide. a little slowing. livermore, dub lin itself maintain as smooth flow of traffic and right around the g.e. plant toward live moue and f 80 there's a crash on the shoulder there. a little distraction. >> now, the bay bridge has a backup. no surprise the metering lights are on. anywhere north of the san jose bridge. also you guys have some activity right here. i'm going to hand that to you for the breaking news.

what are we in store for, kari? >> it will be another comfortable afternoon with highs mostly in the 70s. after starting out in the mid 50s in livermore, a cool morning and 62 degrees now in oakland. in napa, it's 51 degrees. we have to deal with patchy, dense fog. after that clears out, we'll have more sunshine today, a high of 77 in san jose. palo alto, 75. the mission district today at 71 degrees. 80 in santa rosa. brentwood 81. pleasanton today reaching 82 degrees. we'll take a look at all the microclimates, plus a chance of rain for the middle of the week. that's coming up in just a few minutes. let's see how the commute is moving with mike. >> we're going to start with our live camera in dublin. you can't make out the eastbound taillights. there's obviously some cloud cover right here at the level of the camera. we'll show you the map. the reason we distinguish between the camera level and the road level is road weather index. registering through the area. clearly the live camera shows a little bit of differen

let's just change subjects and talk about the weather and kari. >>> yeah. it's really nice outside especially since the light rain we had earlier this morning continues to clear as we get a view now of san francisco. we see mostly clear skies as our temperatures are right at about 66 degrees. and the north bay. san francisco and the east bay and then the peninsula and south bay at 68 degrees. so still feeling very comfortable. we will have that throughout the day not going to trade that out as we see our highs reaching 79 degrees in the east bay and san francisco looking at a high of 73 degrees. as we go hour by hour in livermore this looks so much better than the way we started the week. you remember those mid and upper 90s. yeah, we're done with that at least for a little while. at lunchtime we're at 78 degrees. and in the mid-80s through early afternoon. and with mostly sunny skies dropping it back to about 78 degrees around dinner time. more clouds moving in tonight with a mild one once again. look at the wind forecast. these arrows show you the directi

meteorologist kari hall, what do we got from here on out? >> still spotty light showers across the bay area. saw some pictures online too of a triple rainbow in san francisco. it was really cool, but it was because of some rain moving through. and it's been fairly light across the bay area. we're still tracking some of that light rain as it moves out of san francisco into the east bay. so expect a little bit of rain on the windshield, but the rain for the most part continues to taper down. now, as we go through the rest of the day expect some peeks of sunshine in san jose. a high of 70 degrees. also 70 in palo alto. inner parkside at 67 degrees. 68 degrees in santa rosa while oakland tops out at 70. and in dublin look for a high of 73 degrees. we'll take a look at some of the rainfall totals we've gotten so far. and a look ahead to the weekend with more rain in that forecast. republ coming up just a little bit later. >>> kari, thanks. >> turning now to decision 2016 and the republican presidential candidates will face off once again, this ti
