"action news" reporter chad pradelli is live on the 1200 block of north 10th street. chad, what is the story there? >> jim, right now the police have very limited information of the crime scene here was cleared about 15 minutes ago. this was the scene about an hour ago as investigators combed through the area here at 10th and thompson looking for any sort of evidence or clues left behind in this shooting. they went door-to-door looking for potential witnesses. police tell me shortly after 8:00 this evening they received reports of gunfire here. they responded. police found a 14-year-old male lying in the roadway unconscious with a single gunshot wound over the left eye. they picked him up and took him by cruiser to hah

philadelphia police have just announced that the 14-year-old boy who was shot last night in north philadelphia has died. 14-year-old deval johnson was shot several times in the 1200 block of north tenth street. police say they don't know who shot him or why. a vigil for the teenager is now under way at the scene of the shooting. >>> temple university renamed its medical school in honor of the late businessman and philanthropist lewis katz. it is now the lewis katz school of medicine. there was a celebration this morning. katz died in a plane crash in 2014. prior to his death, the philadelphia inquirer co-had co-owner donated $25 million to temple. that gift was the single largest contribution in the school's history. katz is a graduate -- was a graduate of temple and served on its board of trustees. >> it is the home of the anderson monarchs in south philadelphia. it will soon be equipped with an extra ordinary baseball facility. the phillies mlb urban youth academy. at 10th and susquehanna in north philadelphia, again, that is off campus. in that case, police say a 21-year-old temple student was walking back to his car after getting take-out food approached by two men in their early 20s. they took his wallet and phone and 2005 cadillac with new jersey plates. the student was not injured. around 2:30, another armed robbery was reported on north 18th street. a student was walking home when he was approached by two men in red hoodies. he -- in this case they took his wallet and iphone. a temple student was sexually assaulted near campus last week. flarld to -- in regard to the ad robberies, police sent out an alert telling students to use caution while police investigate. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> gunfire in south philadelphia left one man dead and two others wounded. it happened at ritner street. police found the man dead with his gun in his hand. two other victims showed up at area hospitals they are in stable condition. >>> police are investigating the mysterious death of brandon creato. they could no
