"action news" reporter eva pilgrim live in north wildwood to show us condition there is right now. eva. >> reporter: monica, we are seeing some improving conditions as far as the flood waters go. the wind still a major issue here tonight. you can see the roads have started to clear almost completely now at this hour, but the wind, if you look at that flag up there, whipping around. the wind is absolutely brutal. now, just to show you how high the water was at some point, let me just show you some of the erosion here of this flower bed. you can see the chips that were here have been pushed all the way through the grass and there's actually two layers of floods you can see where it was at its absolute highest. this flood water is moving with the tide and right now we're at low tide so the water has moved out. however, people here are waiting for the next high tide to roll in. water rushes down streets where cars usually drive. >> the water is already up to my second step. >> reporter: this area of north wildwood is prone to flooding during heavy rain and storms. the residents say it'

in north wildwood, a shopping cart floating down the road. a home fell victim to the flood waters. this is a picture of the home as meteorologist cesily tynan showed from her facebook page last night on "action news" at 5:00. this is how it looks 7 hours later at high tide. as you can see it fell into the water and is likely a total locals. meteorologist david murphy joining us, the shore got hit. >> reporter: it's going to get hit today at times of high tide. the rain isesing -- easing back but the winds and water a problem. it's wet there's a fair amount of rain west of philadelphia, pinwheeling away, but damp conditions in the i-95 corridor, as well. storm tracker 6 live double scan showing you at least the rain is beginning to lift out of here, we are rather damp out there. if you're driving around or walking around early, you'll want rain gear and make sure the windshield wipers are working. the heavy bands did lift off the ocean, most of the heavier stuff pushed off to the north and west of us. we have more sprinkles and showers coming in off the ocean and we have the strong

>> reporter: jim, you have to be careful going to the beach here at sixth street in north wildwood. they are telling you if you go over be careful because is there in the much left on the other side. there is a lot of clipping happening along dunes at the the jersey shore, and this storm really ate away at the beaches. the constant barrage of wind, and rough waves, are tearing up beaches up and down the new jersey shoreline. >> it is a shame that, you know, mother nature. >> reporter: in north wildwood city officials estimate as much as 300,000 cubic yard of sandy road, and that is almost half of what was left for city wide replenishment after super storm sandy this storm did damage to our north section of our beach between say second and seventh avenue. we have a 15-foot cliff right now where the the dune and the beach erode add way over the weekend. >> reporter: one town north, stone harbor's dunes were also gashed. pat says this weekend's 111th street looked fine. >> we were like nothing will happen here? well, we've got six and 8-foot drops, and the whole ramp is gone. >> report

right here at the intersection of maryland and spruce in north wildwood. when we got here, the water was actually behind those cones over there, and not in in intersection at all, which is why we pulled in here. the water now has quickly come into this area. as you look up at the stoplight you can see how hard the wind is blowing here. this flag completely wrapped around the flagpole here and flapping in the wind as well. if you walk with me, you see a lot of the cars are having to move out of the water-ridden area into higher ground as they try to move the cars to a safer area as the water keeps coming. right now it is not really raining that hard right here. kind of a spitting drizzle going on at this hour. it was raying when we first got here. it comes and it goes. but the problem is the water keeps coming and we're just watching this water as it continues to move and rise here in this area. we're live in north wildwood for channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. >>> new jersey governor chris christie in sea isle city just a few moments ago when he gave
