now here's roberta with the weekend forecast. >>> good afternoon, everybody. this is what we all need to know as we slide into our afternoon and look ahead towards the weekend. we have some coastal and bay fog. it's going to linger for a while. otherwise sun/cloud mix today through saturday. a little cooler sunday. this is really interesting. first off we have hurricane olaf right there. i want you to keep thinking about that but meanwhile i want to turn your attention just for a minute or two over here towards patricia. this is the most powerful hurricane on record in the western hemisphere. it is now poised to move onshore manzanillo about late this afternoon as a category 5 hurricane with 200-mile-an-hour winds. we'll keep a watchful eye on that most powerful hurricane. meanwhile we are under the influence of a blocking ridge of high pressure. remember olaf? it's going to end up being the remnants of olaf that moves into the northern half of the state of california by wednesday producing some rain showers much-needed rain here and some very muggy conditions
