if you go back to southeastern wisconsin and the town of janesville, wisconsin, where paul ryan is fifth generation family member, the locals there will tell you that most people in his family, they are republicans in their politics but there are democrats as well. but ryan's great strength for some time, martha, has been his ability to reach across the aisle and at a minimum, listen to the other side. to hear their concerns and there's a great story about a plant strike in janesville, wisconsin, where gm workers came to his office in washington. instead of ignoring them, he invited all of them into his office space and heard their complaints and heard their concerns an thanked them for coming. that's not to say ryan was convinced and changed his mine or his opinion but he at least let them have their day. that's the reputation for this young man from wisconsin, martha. martha: yeah. indeed it is. and moments ago paul ryan's office tweet ad picture of him in shirt sleeves with a binder open and lots of paperwork in front of him. he is a worker. he likes the numbers. he likes the details.
