bernie sanders: yes. john dickerson: but there's a conservative revolution going on in america right now. as john boehner knows, and as democrats know who have lost in state houses across the country -- bernie sanders: right. john dickerson: those conservatives are watching tonight and probably shaking their heads. so how you deal with that part of the country? the revolution's already happening, but on the other side. bernie sanders: and we are gonna do a political revolution which brings working people, young people, senior citizens, minorities together. because every issue that i am talking about, paid family and medical leave, breaking up the banks on wall street, asking the wealthy to pay their fair share of taxes, rebuilding a fumbling infrastructure, raising the minimum wage to 15 bucks an hour, every one of those issues is supported by a significant majority of the american people. problem is, that as a result of a corrupt campaign finance system, congress is not listening to the american people.

bernie sanders gets a couple of wins. if you look at the national polls now quinnipiac had -- we'll show you the graphic. clinton versus the top four republicans. she loses to ben carson nationally by ten points. it's early. but look at the numbers. she loses the women's vote to ben carson. she beats donald trump. you see the big gender gap for hillary clinton who would be the first female president there. but look at the marco rubio ted cruz. statistically that's a dead heat. you see women voters there white working class women she has a problem with and independent voters. she hopes to lock it up and address weaknesses. >> yeah. i think that she's got some issues, you know, adds we're seeing for the general election. i'm also interested sort of the next debate with bernie. if you talk to his people, he's nervous, i think, in the first debate. he's never been 0 a stage that big. he had done vermont public access debates for a state of 600,000. >> now it's 15 million people. >> i think for the next debate looking to that

bernie sanders: not good enough. [applause] bernie sanders: i mean, you know, let's not be naive about it. why over her political career has wall street been a major -- the major campaign contributor to hillary clinton? maybe they're dumb and they don't know what they're gonna get. but i don't think so. here is the major issue when we talk about wall street, it ain't complicated. you got six financial institutions today that have assets equivalent to 56% of the gdp in america. they issue two thirds of the credit cards and one third of the mortgages. if teddy roosevelt, the good republican, were alive today you know what he'd say? break them up. [applause] that is the issue. so i am the only candidate up here that doesn't have a super pac. i'm not asking wall street or the billionaires for money. i will break up these banks, support community banks and credit unions. that's the future of banking in america. john dickerson: quick follow-up because you will get a chance to respond. you said they know what they're going

it will be crucial for bernie sanders. hillary clinton leads nationally, i had in iowa, new hampshire, and south carolina. is this race over? bernie sanders will have to tell ande watching the debate democratic activist there is a reason to keep their minds open, that they're all to be an alternative to hillary clinton. martin o'malley will make that same case. no one is closer to hillary clinton than bernie sanders. it will be the degree to which martin o'malley and bernie sanders make this case, that she may have moved to the left on some issues, but is that authentic? does she believe the things she is saying? why is that important? because the democrats begin to make the argument against hillary clinton that she would do anything or say anything to win the nomination. they will be playing into the hands of whom? the republicans. that will be one of the central tardis against hillary clinton. that she is inauthentic to her core. i will be interested to see how far down that road bernie sanders and martin o'malley go. ch
