the city of sioux city appointed three important new positions this morning. bob scott was sworn in as the mayor of sioux city. scott broke a record by becoming the longest serving mayor in city history. he has served the past 11 years and his four-year term began today after running unopposed for re-election. scott says his goals surround improving "it's a great feeling. this is a great community. i love serving in this community so it's an honor and i just feel really blessed," said sioux city mayor, bob scott. council member, dan moore, also took the oath of office this morning as the new mayor pro tempore. moore says he's here to serve the people and he's honored to receive the position. his goals include connecting city trails, looking at the amount of swimming pools, and anything else that is for the greater good.
