the peninsula-- throughout the week crews have been planning watching the forecast --we know they were out last night for pre treatment on the roads which is certainly visible this morning -- officials tell us they have more than two thousand-500 crew members and more than 13 thousand pieces of equipment. crews plan on using nearly 650 thousand tons of salt, sand mixture -- thats the weight of more than 20 cars and nearly two million gallons of liquid salt to clear the roadways. as you know governor mcauliff declared a state of emergency here in virginia which means several agencies are on standby for aid-- in addition to 24- hour crews treating roads for ice --the governor talks about what he also needs virginians to governor says the state has more than 200 million in the budget for the storm-- and they )re willing to do anything to keep the state safe. and we know cities here in hampton roads are also being proactive in assuring everyones safety-- as you saw school cancellations and early dismalls. everyone trying to get that head start on mother nature newschannel 3 app and track t
