do you try to go after donald trump or even talk about donald trump's record? or do you continue kind of aiming fire at each other? >> the thing that's really tricky this late in the game is that you really have to define donald trump as a person. before previously, earlier debates may have been the time to go after him on smaller, ticky tacky issues. but right now with super tuesday right around the corner, i think you have to go right at donald trump's credibility possibly as a commander in chief, which is a tricky thing to do. it has to do with his character, his temperament. can he use some of these smaller issues, like his tax returns, that he's not being up-front or disclosing things, that he might be hiding something to get there, possibly? but it's going to be tricky, that's why the stakes in this debate have so high. >> anderson, i just think that -- >> go ahead. >> i think at this point, after all of these debates and the results that have come in, in iowa, new hampshire, south carolina, nevada, boy, what more is there to be said here? i think people

mark: donald trump's king at the south. he's strong not just in the horse race, but the voters don't consider him the most conservative and yet they still give him the lead. attempts to paint him as less conservative will not have an effect on his standing. he beat the individual candidates head-to-head. that undermines the argument, donald trump over ted cruz. over rubio, 48-44. john: if you look at this poll, and it's hard to poll a whole bunch of states together. it's a very complicated business with all the southern states. it's true what you said, it's not just that he is ahead by so much, it's the ways in which he is ahead. donald trump holds a commanding lead over these other guys. it's possible that ted cruz could pick up a state, marco rubio could get a bunch of delegates and some of the states. it's hard to escape the conclusion that donald trump will be the big winner in the south on march 1. john: it's a very conservative part of the country. the mountain west as well. apparently they like new york values here i

marco rubio is behaving like donald trump. at the debate i made three points -- number one, that marco supports granting citizenship to the 12 million people here illegally. it's a fact he said on the debate stage that he currently supports it and he acknowledged this may not the majority view in my party, but i, marco rubio, supported. he said on meet the press with chuck todd where he said he would grant citizenship to illegal aliens with criminal convictions. the first point i made about immigration is a fact. it is his own record, his own words. the second observation is in florida, he supported granting in-state tuition to illegal aliens. that is a fact. there's no gray area, no interpretation, it is a egislative fact. the third point i made, is marco went on univision in spanish and said on his first day in office, he would not resend president obama's illegal ads. he said this on national television. this bizarre notion that words said on national television don't exist. marco's response was exactly the same -- to yell
