let's head on over to meteorologist, david murphy and to karen rogers to look at your weather and traffic. good morning. >> all right everyone we're already seeing the first up and down of rain this morning pushing up toward philadelphia and entering south philadelphia at this point. starting to push away from wilmington already and this is just one initial band that's going to pop through. after that we'll get into a generally drier pattern for several hours. maybe a couple of sprinkles behind this and then later on we start to see the heavier more widespread rain move in and that's this system coming in along with a cold front. ahead of this it will be mild but occasionally damp this morning and then steadier rain later this afternoon and tonight a flood watch is still in effect starting today at plan to extending until thursday afternoon. it looks like in areas where the snow pack hasn't melted we could get some poor drainage area flooding that could affect some roadways and smaller creeks and streams. mainly minor stuff but we want you to be very wary about driving through any areas t

the temperatures can't rise fast enough and karen rogers has what this all means for traffic. good morning. >> temperatures are rapid in there process of rising but that change happens kind of late in the game in a lot of neighborhoods so we're left with icy sidewalks, side streets and even patches of more significant roadways that are slick. one band of precipitation i who lighted in blue that has a chance of being freezing rain and it looks like it's about to push into berks county and the northwest corner of chester county. a winter weather advisory has been canceled across most region. it's still in effect in the poconos until 7 o'clock and a warning out west because of that freezing rain. but even in areas where you don't have an active advisory all that means is that the precipitation is over. you still have ice that's trying melt as we get those temperatures to rise and work on that ice that did form overnight. we're all the way up to 51 degrees in philadelphia. of course there are other spots like wilmington that are much closer to freezing. same story in allentown. st

we turn right to karen rogers. good morning. >> yeah, a big problem happening right now. this is malvern chester county. we're looking live at 202 right near 29 and we can see both directions traffic is stopped. so, this is your northbound traffic right here as you head towards king of prussia on 202 northbound all lanes blocked here as well as southbound. we've got a lot of emergency workers on this scene. we're hearing there are downed wires causing the problem here so looks like an accident and downed wires. lots of emergency workers blocking both directions of 202. this is a big one for your morning commute. what you want to do is stick to lancaster avenue, route 30, as your alternate to this one. it's causing problems this morning. we have temperatures everywhere that are above freezing now. but problems everywhere nonetheless. as we look at some of these accidents, west chester pike eastbound at green lane. here's a new accident coming in in west chester. in upper merion we have an accident here on radnor road at croton road. one in west conshohocken that just clear

karen rogers we're looking at a nice mild change for the weekend, details coming up. we're starting with a big accident in gloucester county. state police say it was a single-vehicle accident he smashed into the guardrail. someone was trapped in the vehicle. they have emergency workers coming to the scene. they have the left lane blocked in both directions. the accident happened on 55 northbound approaching little mill road. they have each direction a lane blocked. you might want to stick to buck road or frys mills road. in vineland, cumberland county an accident investigation on delsea drive shutting it down. 47 northbound is blocked at garden road. use west avenue as the alternate. this accident involving an overturned vehicle that had 130 northbound blocked. all lanes back open at new albany road. watch tore a slick spot or two. including this one, a vehicle jumped the curb abbey ran into a building at 29 and ridge avenue. we have two disabled vehicles, one on the schuylkill expressway westbound approaching gladwyn off to the side. traffic is moving okay. it's dry,

he's got the latest in accuweather and karen rogers has what that's doing to the roads, good morning. >> reporter: storm tracker 6 live double scan is showing us the first light band of snow is pushing through delaware county and chester county and berks county, as well. south philadelphia beginning to see a little bit of this. not much impact from the first band. temperatures have been cold the last couple of days, it won't take much snow to put a slippery sheen down. it's later in the morning and the afternoon when we expect the pluck of the snow to come in. we have a winter weather advisory that extends until 10:00 p.m. up in lancaster and the poconos. we're not looking at a lot of snow, light accumulations, probably one to two inches in the immediate regions and changeover to rain in the afternoon. in these areas we could have travel difficulties in the afternoon and we with a lot for the changeover. the wide view shows you it is snow all the way down into virginia at this early hour, but the rain will be coming in from the south as we go into the afternoon. 17 degrees in philadel
