wyff news 4's mandy gaither is live and local in honea path mandy? mandy: sophia rhodes was revived here on scene, and is still in critical condition. she is at the burn unit tonight. i am told her family will know more after test tomorrow. -- tests tomorrow. investigators were back out at the home on green street monday. they say the cause of the fire is still undetermined at this point. officials tell us the five-year-old was found between the wall and a couch. family friends say sophia is a kindergartener at honea path elementary, a joy to be around. sophia is the youngest of five. the rest of the family made it out. krista overby lives across the street, and is the wife of the family's pastor. the church first assembly of god honea path is now accepting donations for the family. they've lost everything. >> they have three other children beside sophia, sizes 6 & 7. they also have a baby granddaughter that lives in the home, as well. she's two months old, so they'll need clothing and diapers and for them. mandy: anyone interested in -- can drop off

wyff news 4's mandy gaither is live and local at the anderson county sheriff's office with more. mandy: deputies are turning to criminal profilers with sled, hoping to gain some insight on the case, and who would do such a thing. november 2, more than 3 months ago, family members stood along refuge road clinging to one another, desperately seeking comfort in their loss. mike and cathy scott, their mothers barbara scott and violet taylor, found shot to death inside their home in what the coroner called "a very violent crime." the passage of time has done nothing to lessen the pain. >> there's not a day that goes by, probably not even a hour that goes by, that i don't think mandy: tammy white was violet's granddaughter and cathy' niece. with no arrests in the case, the emotional wounds remain wide open unable to heal. >> this is the most traumatic thing that we've ever had to experience. there's just a lot of unanswered questions. mandy: anderson county sheriff's office captain garland major says investigators are continuing to work on leads as they come in, trying to generate new

gabrielle: wyff news 4's mandy gaither has more from anderson county. mandy: no one was inside this suv when it was found, submerged in the saluda river. but where it was found caused major problems for crews trying to get it out. the first hurdle, trying to get a tow truck up this access road near holiday dam. the owner first had to stake out the area without the truck, to see if they could make it up there. pick-up truck, as well, just in case the tow truck got stuck. it was a bumpy ride, but eventually, everyone made it to the top, where this red ford explorer was found partially submerged in the saluda river. divers from the anderson fire department technical rescue team went into the water >> we looked first. throughout the whole car, making sure no one was in it. we checked seats, floorboards. we train on this type of situation, just to make sure we clear every inch of the car. mandy: there were signs from the beginning that this suv had been stolen, says dive rescue coordinator josh hawkins. >> when we got to the car, the steering wheel was actua

mandy? mandy: the meeting started here just a few minutes ago. as you can see behind me, parents and teachers and staff are walking into the building as we speak. we have been seeing this for the past 30 minutes or so. inside, they will talk about a proposal that would affect four schools. here is what we know. as we speak, the board of trustees facilities committee is discussing a proposal to merge or bank pickens-area elementary schools. we're talking about hagood elementary, a.r. lewis, ambler, and holly springs elementary. the proposed merger would mean students in kindergarten through 2nd grade would go to one school, and students grades third through fifth would go to another school. the details of which schools would be impacted, and how, are being unveiled in this meeting. district spokesman john eby told me the proposal is in light of declining enrollment and population trends, at half capacity or less. he says consolidating would cut down on operation costs, and create more academic opportunities for students. but many parents we talked
