there's not been a ton of polling in massachusetts thus far, but these new numbers are the first massachusetts polls to show hillary clinton leading in that state. if this poll is born out on tuesday, and secretary clinton wins in massachusetts, that would put the democratic presidential contest in a qualitatively different place than in this goes the other way. bernie sanders is counting on massachusetts. massachusetts has so many delegates, and demographically it's so designed for a bernie sanders win. neighbor's his home state just as new hampshire does where he did so well. if he doesn't win massachusetts, senator sanders path gets way, way narrower than anybody previously imagined.ç joining us now is anthony brooks. thanks for joining us. appreciate having you here. >> rachel, it's my pleasure. thank you for having me. >> there hasn't been a ton of polling in the democratic race in massachusetts or the republican race in massachusetts thus far. should we take it to mean that massachusetts is hard to poll or one of the places that's hard to predict or just a matter that not many people h

massachusetts could play a key role. reed: without a win some candidates may be forced to that political analyst say this year massachusetts matters. bernie sanders said massachusetts is a must win for his campaign. he made two stops here in massachusetts yesterday rallying support. one of only three super tuesday states that is located in the north. the southern states are seen as belonging to hillary. hillary won the massachusetts primary in 2008 over then senator barack obama. popular here. the relatively liberal voting base may actually swing in sanders favor this time. the democratic will glad artist says sanders would have to win 60% of remaining delegates to even catch clinton. that is a near mathematical it will be tough as well for candidates who trailed front runner donald trump. super tuesday is also no to thin out the herd. many candidates drop out if their vote is low. he says ohio governor john kasich could be on the chopping block if he doesn' t score some victories somewhere. here' s another unknown. eliz

i think many of you, and not to harp on massachusetts, but there's a police chief in gloucester, massachusetts who started an angel program and they and their officers look at getting people into care and it's been a huge, i think, change from our law enforcement officers to know that we can't arrest and incarcerate our way out of this problem. that we have to have a much more compassionate response to people with addiction and it can go a long way to diminish the stigma if people feel free to ask for help. but part of what we continue to focus on are looking at what are the opportunities through grant programs because we know the cost of millox own can be prohibitive for many people. but we want to make sure we're doing everything we can to widen the expansion. the other area that becomes important, so it's not just overdoses that have been a significant consequence related to this epidemic but we have seen and i'm sure all of your states are experiencing increases in viral hepatitis as a result of drug use. many of you saw what happened in indiana this summer that had about 185 people in a c
