. >> melanie woodrow is live in brisbane with a story you'll see only on "abc7 news." melanie? >> reporter: larry and ama, this is the block that shelly lives on. she went missing the day before valentine's day and two days later her husband reported her disappearance. this morning, "abc7 news" was here in front of the home when law enforcement agents from two agencies, fremont and brisbane, showed up. they asked us to move back because they said this was going to be an active crime scene. >> search warrant. >> reporter: with those commands, police entered the home. 57-year-old wife and mother shelly has been missing, her husband carl dreported her disappearance. pd said paul told investigators shelly left her cell phone and laptop at home and she had a history of bipolar disorder and depression. today, those missing signs were covered by crime scene tape. after serving the search warrant at the home, investigators spent much of their time out back. they swabbed this white vehicle, which is registered to the husband, paul. the police department's connection to a missing person

. >> melanie woodrow was in the courtroom this afternoon and joins us live right now with what happened there. >> reporter: family of both the suspect and officer vegas were here today, since officer vegas' death last thursday, his family has been vocal in that they considered suspect robert vega like a son. today we got our first look at him in court. also for the first time in addition to seeing robert vega, we saw his sister, who is here with a family friend. they said they were here to support not only robert but the vegas family, as well. vega is facing a murder charge with an enhancement involving the intensal use of a firearm that resulted in a death. vega is also facing a kidnapping charge. when he was arrested, he had his 6-year-old son with him. also in court today was officer vegas' daughter bianca and several richmond police officers. >> he did not deserve this at all. there is a handful of us here to support the family and to support the criminal justice system. >> reporter: as he stood up in court, robert vega said, can i say something? and the judge cut him off, saying no

melanie woodrow was the first to tweet this news. she's live with new information on how the victim died. melanie? >> reporter: these details are very gruesome. so much so that he's being held on that murder charge without bail. he also has an immigration hold and he did not act alone. he had a friend that was with him after the fact that was denato perez, being held on $500,000 bail, the judge agreed to raise that bail today because of what he's accused of helping pedran to do. this is our first look at the man charged with murdering stacey aguilar and his accomplice. according to charging documents, at 1:00 in the morning valentine's day, pedraza took aguilar outside and used a hand gun to shoot her. when perez, who heard the gunshots came outside, pedraza admitted he killed her. the two then drove her body to fremont and rolled her down a hillside. from there they allegedly got rid of her i.d., credit cards and cell phone. according to court documents, perez told investigators he helped pedraza clean the vehicle, taking it to a ca
