kcci's rose heaphy is just back from warren county. rose, what did city leaders say about how a local option sales tax would impact them? rose: stacey, i spoke with officials from carlisle. they say local option sales tax could give the city funds it needs to improve. they say a small increase could andrew: as a smaller city, we're just not able to keep up with those expenses. rose: to carlisle city administration, a local sales option tax -- or lost -- would help with city improvements. andrew: it's an investment. we can help with those expenses, and we can see those services improved. rose: currently, the sales tax in warren county is 6%, or $.06 of $1. the local option sales tax would increase it by 1% -- making the total tax $.07 per $1. if lost passes in carlisle, the city could bring in almost $190,000 a fiscal year. andrew: 50% for public safety, and that is our police and fire. and 50% for streets and sidewalks. rose: street projects, such as improving this intersection with highway 5, that sees more than 20,000 vehicles a day.
