amanda castro is joining us live from the scene. you've been out there all afternoon. are crews getting a handle on the flames at this point? >> reporter: yeah. we're told the fire is 100% contained. that means there's a fire line around the blaze. but as you can see, we just saw within the past few minutes a big flare-up, it looks like. lots of dark smoke coming from the scene. you can see it's still pretty active. lots of law enforcement and fire crews still out there. we were told that troopers were hoping to open state road 407 but it's still an active scene out there. at its peak this afternoon, the flames were rising high, fueled by the windy and dry conditions. blaze while helicopters dumped water from up above. the fire grew to about 35 acres. the flames actually burning to the edge of state road 407, causing troopers to shut down the roadway between i-95 and state road 405. traffic is being diverted away from the blaze. we were told that troopers decided to close state road 407 to traffic so crews could stop the fire from crossing over to the other side of the

amanda castro has been following the story for us and joins us live. what do we know about this thing? >> reporter: well, we know the flames actually burned up to the roadway. that's why state road 407 is shut down. troopers are on scene directing traffic away from the blaze. if we take a few steps in this direction, you can see down the road it's still a very active scene. but the smoke over there is thinning out a little bit. here's video from sky 6 as it flew over the brushfire earlier this afternoon. you can see there were large flames and the windy, dry weather conditions fueling the blaze. crews say it's about 35 acres in size and they have it about 90% contained. i've also seen helicopters out today dumping water above the right now, no homes or structures are in any danger. the flames did spread to state road 407. the roads are closed between i-95 and state road 405, causing traffic problems for drivers trying to get home. no word when the road will reopen, but we are told troopers will be posted along the roadway because of possible smoke and
