caitlin roth is live in dupont circle where folks are soaking in the sun. hey, caitlin. >> reporter: hey there, tony and shawn. yes. absolutely gorgeous. it's all anyone can talk about. it's big news impacting everyone. busier than usual as you can imagine i think maybe people were leaving work a little bit earlier, wanted to be outdoors as much as they can. behind me 77 degrees still right after 6:00 here in dupont. so that is amazing any day of the year. but considering it's march 9th, i think it's giving everyone spring fever. earlier when we got down here, 82 degrees. people were out, i see people wearing sandals. they don't waste any time getting into the summer clothing and people are dining outdoors. a lot of the straents restaurants are telling us we opened our outdoor seating. a lot of people out in the circle, in the park this afternoon too. it's a beautiful afternoon. we did not actually hit the record high temperature here in dc. we had to hit 80 to tie it. but came pretty close down at reagan i believe. 79 was the high temperature that we hit.
