matt turpin, a teacher at daytona beach college, is facing drug charges by daytona beach police. he was arrested last year after halifax hospital officials reported him. according to this emergency restriction of license order handed down just three days ago by the department of health which was obtained by eyewitness news, turpin is accused of stealing pain and anxiety medication along with hypodermic needles. in november of last year, according to police report, turpin would withdraw the medication from the dispensing system from patients but they never received it. they found drugs on him as well as on a backpack. in documents, turpin would admit he would divert opiods from hhmc and use them orally and internasally. he started working in august of last year, diverting morphine and hydromor- ofone and -- hydromorphone. he used the substances to cope from daily life stressors. they recommended he enter treatment for nurses. he hasn't complied. >> reporter: i reached out to the college tonight to see what turpin's status is with the college. but because of spring break, i have no
