we'll get two pieces kind of racing across the eastern seaboard as opposed to systems colliding across the carolinas and merging into a huge storm. well get one after the next here. which is good news it's a weaker system now. future tracker 6 showing light rain showers this afternoon. this is 2:00 p.m. it's mainly cloudy at that point, light rain south and east, as we at advance this through. even not model is showing snowflakes here, i suspect it will be rain this afternoon. cloudy skies to the north. as we advance this through time, overnight tonight we'll get a lull in the action it's mainly cloudy. first thing tomorrow morning expect to see mixed rain and snow showers here, which will pick up in intensity throughout the day. but it's precipitating during the day. high temperatures are close to 40 degrees. even if we see more snow filling in than what the model is showing, a lot of it will melt on contact especially on roads and sidewalks and bridges and overpasses and things like that. temperatures are milder, we expect some accumulation on grassy sure -- surfaces. temperatures we

three of the four big models were right on board with this storm coming up the eastern seaboard to that 70/40 benchmark and giving us a snowstorm. not the case now. right now it wants to move more to the east. the further east it goes, you if that's going to be the case. right now, we see the cold air setting up. you have snow to the north of sullivan and ulster county. the bigger picture will show you it's associated with that cold front. now, this cold front is definitely going to drop south. so the cold air is going to be setting up. i'm talking tomorrow morning you're waking up in the 20s and 30s. that cold air will stay throughout the weekend but then it's going to be all about how this system exits the eastern seaboard and where it travels. yesterday everybody right on board with it coming right up the eastern seaboard giving us a big snowstorm but things look like it will go a little more east so i have had to lower the numbers. when you get something like this, i have to bring my snowfall figure numbers down. in the weather office, i'm hoping we have the finishing touches on thi

the eastern seaboard for the moment will stay dry on wednesday. we go into thursday and that's when we're going to see the rain really picking up. look at this. ottawa over into washington, d.c., toronto, all looking at wet weather for thursday and the rain is expected to linger as we go into the weekend andnd in fa, snow is possible up into canada by the weekend. so it's going to be an interesting weather scenario moving forward in time as the system pushes toward the east. speaking of an interesting weather situation, the system mainly has moved to the north and eaeast, but another system moving on shore so this low pressure system is going to create some instabability. we're looking at the possibility of some storms as we go throughout the day on wednesday. so have the umbrellas handy and then the system will move to the east, the one from the north continues to push toward the east. so warsaw and also into berlin, you're looking at some wet weather. down toward the south and west lisbon you're lookingng at precipitation coming up on wednesday.

that more sure extends all the way up the eastern seaboard. there is a winter storm warning in effect tonight for boston and providence. they're going to get about 10 inches of heavy wet snow that could bring down power lines and trees there and also about 2 to 3 inches in new york city. tomorrow morning, if you have travel plans for business or pleasure -- what is typically a busy travel 10 monday especially for business , things could really be slow across eastern seaboard because of that. temperatures mostly in the 60 statewide. we have low 70s across the southern tip of the peninsula. for the first day of spring, look at these temperatures -- 21 denver , 28 chicago, 26 boston as they get ready for heavy snow. you want to watch the greens as these moisture forecast will notice the red and the yellows, that is the dryer air. watch what happens with that. we're pretty much deep into the dryer air monday, tuesday and wednesday. then as we go to thursday and friday the moisture starts to move back in. the first 3 days this week will be cool and

the entire eastern seaboard is very, very nice. certainly, the pressure gradient causing the high winds we've seen, but the sky conditions are lovely. that stretches all the way back to the midwest. it's just a very nice picture. beautiful. so we inherit all of this as we head into tomorrow. currently, we have sustained winds at about 28 miles per hour in white plains. but down to 10 in central park. 29 miles per hour in west hampton. take a look out west, 26 miles per hour in monticello and 22 miles per hour in bridgewater. gusts close to 40 miles per hour and look at these numbers out in islip and west hampton. we had gusts close to 60 miles per hour in newark. those were peak wind gusts during the last 18 hours or so. temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s. it's an unremarkable thermometer reading around the area for this time of year. water temperature about 44 degrees. as we head into tonight, it's going to feel like it's 33 in the city as we head into tomorrow morning, it is a dose of winter to start off, but a nice recover

our satellite radar composite showing clear skies up and down the eastern seaboard. we have to look back to our west right around arkansas. they could see storms as though move through the tennessee river valley later today. as it approaches our area, isolated showers late today. here's the setup. the cold front is way back to overall, you'll notice more cloud cover. this cold front will move through first thing wednesday morning. as it does, showers early. skies clear in the afternoon, but what's it really going to do is open the door for the cooler air to rush in. that cooler air will be felt as early as wednesday afternoon, thursday, and even into friday and the weekend ahead. unfortunately today is the last day in the 70s for at least the next seven days. here we are today, 6:30 in the morning starting off with clear skies. we still look at clear skies around lunchtime. this is our in-house model. at 6:00 it's keeping us dry. there are some models out there that are spotty with a shower or two around the area. that's all that i'm thinking for the evening drive ho
