katherine scott is live at east detectives in hunting park. she's been gathering details all morning. she's got the latest. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. police say this was a violent struggle that escalated. knives were involved and then someone pulled a gun. in the end, two men in their 20's were shot multiple times. one is in stable condition. the other is in critical condition. and police say both sides of the argument, the gun shot victims and the gunmen and several family members live in two separate apartments on the second floor of a row home on the 3900 block of north percy street in hunting park and just before midnight, police were called out for a report of a man with a weapon. when officers got there, the front door was wide opened. there was a.ma trail of blood along the walls and the steps. up on the second floor there were three knives on the floor, broken glasses, overturned items. police soon learned that two men with multiple gun shot wounds had showed up at the hospital. one was in critical condit

katherine scott is live at east detectives with the full story. katherine. >> reporter: hat, that's right, two men were shot, one in critical condition, the other in stable condition. the gunman is still on the run. and police say the gunman fled with several people including a one-year-old boy and police say that little boy is a particular concern because he was in the home at the time this all happened and detectives here at the east division in hunting park are investigating this case. investigators are hearing that this started with an argument. the people on both sides of that argument live in separate apartments on the second floor of a row home on the 3900 block of north percy street in hunting park. police say that argument turned physical. knives were involved. then someone pulled a gun. just before midnight police were called out for a report of a person with a weapon. when officers got there, the front door was wide open. a trail of blood along the steps and walls led officers upstairs. >> when the officers checked the property to see i

katherine scott is live at lee's cafe and bistro on washington avenue. >> reporter: the victim worked as a cook, 54 years old. she was found in the basement kitchen area. there's a takeout on the first floor and restaurant on the second floor and parentally there's a dumb waiter device that moves the food up and down the floor. it's unclear how often people go into the kitchen with the cook was. police were called to the 500 block of washington avenue in south philadelphia around 9:00 p.m. they found the woman downstairs lying on the floor her throat was slashed. she was pronounced at 9:15 p.m. there were signs of a violent struggle in the basement kitchen. the equipment was knocked over and there was severe bruising to her face. the restaurant was open, four other employees inside at the time and other customers on the second floor of the restaurant. police are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses to see if it could provide any clues. >>> these cameras could have recorded someone going to and leaving from the homicide scene. >> reporter: the detectives interviewed th

katherine scott is live now at police headquarters. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. and that 14-year-old remains in the hospital this morning in very critical condition. we're told that he was in surgery overnight and what exactly happened last night remains under investigation. but investigators were out in west philadelphia. they say at least eight shots were fired in this shooting last night. it happened around 9:30 and police say the shooting happened on the 200 block of north simpson street but the victim, a 14-year-old boy was found around 60th and vine. how he got there remains under investigation. he was shot once in his back. he was taken to penn presbyterian hospital in very critical condition. investigators are still trying to piece together what happened. >> right now we do not have a motive for the shooting. we don't have a description of a shooter or shooters. we're not even certain at this time if this 14-year-old victim was the intended target or if he was hit with a stray bullet. >> reporter: a
