"cbs north carolina"'s lauren haviland is there live, lauren, good morning. what can you tell us right now? >> reporter: we're at the panera bread between the comfort inn and suites off glenwood avenue in raleigh. you can see exactly what i'm talking about here. you can see crime scene tape is blocking off the majority of the parking lot but they are letting people that have been staying at the comfort inn and suites in and out. let me tell you how officers were originally called around 12:30 this morning. for a welfare check. that is when they found two adult males dead inside their car. again here in the panera bread parking lot. at this point we're not sure how investigators are treating this investigation. two dead males inside a car, but investigators have been here since about 12:30 this morning. and they are really urging anybody to come forward, if you have any information, saw anything especially those who were here at panera bread or comfort inn and suites. again, if you have information call the raleigh police department or crime stoppers. live in

cbs north carolina's lauren haviland has been on scene at the morning. what's the latest there, lauren? >> reporter: well, we now know murdered here and police remain on scene. the car that you see right now with its doors opened, police confirmed that that is part of the crime scene. there is crime scene tape around this amount. we're in the 500 block of hardy street. just behind that car is another apartment building, and we believe that is also somewhat part of the crime scene. investigators were callinged to this complex around 2:00 this morning in report of a shooting. that is when they found the 24- year-old man. police say they have not made any arrests at this time. you can see they are definitely searching for evidence as the forensics team is out here and several police officers and the homicide investigators are also on scene. they will be here until 9:00 this morning. that's when they hope to pass along the name and more information about who this man that was murdered is and of course, any other information, maybe a possible arrest of course

lauren haviland is there on scene right now with a live report, lauren. >> reporter: a deputy remains on scene here this morning after a man and woman were found dead inside this home behind into, and can you see crime scene tape is surrounding the unit home drive. and the sheriff's office responded here around 4:30 yesterday afternoon after a family friend found a man unresponsive and called 911. when deputies arrived they found a woman dead, too. deputies say a two-year-old was also found and safe and now unclear how the two died, but a neighbor told cbs north carolina they heard gunshots the night before the couple was found. while the sheriff's office did not release the names of the victims, we did speak to a woman who said a man found was her son, matt jones. she is trying to figure out how something like this could happen to her son. >> i mean he is still my baby, he is still the baby much and everybody tried to protect him and everybody tried telling him not to do stuff that he was doing and having people, evidently that is what caused this, somebody at his house that didn't b

lauren haviland joins us live with the latest details. lauren? >> reporter: it continues took very active scene, we're off glenwood avenue in between the inn. i'm going to back up before we show you video, just to show you a lot of the parking lot scene tape. even past the crime scene tape police going through them anything. thrave been talking to witnesses and said they have not really gotten anything from the witnesses. let me show you some video of what it looked like earlier. raleigh police were called to this area about 12:30 this morning. they were originally called to do a welfare check. when they arrived they found the two men dead from gunshot wounds. when police say they have not -- they have identified but are not releasing the names, to us at this point but as we've been seeing for the past couple of hours a lot of family, a lot of friends, are coming here and crying, we have not been able to talk to them too much but you can tell they are just going through a lot at this point. so are police. they are going through surveillance video
