in a moment we'll speak with dr. michael baden, attorney mark eiglarsh, mark fuhrman and more. we begin tonight with the organization that broke this news. harvey levin is executive producer of tmz.com. harvey, good to see you tonight. this is an explosive report you've just put up. tell us what the very latest is. >> well when we broke the story that last friday he was rushed to the hospital in moline, illinois, his people told us that he was rushed there because he had the flu. and frankly it did not make sense to us, and i'll tell you why. he had just performed as you said in atlanta, did a very good concert. his voice was great. he seemed great. jumped on a plane. an hour and a half later, 48 minutes from his final destination in minnesota, the plane is diverted, makes an emergency landing in moline and he is rushed to the hospital by ambulance. now, when his people said he had the flu, it really stopped us in our tracks because what we thought was, why wouldn't he tough it out for 48 minutes and be at home? but they said it was the flu. he was there for three hours and lef

earlier tonight dr. michael baden told us the toxicology reports can be done in a few days. whether they release it right aw away depends on police. joining us by phone, mark fuhrman a fox news contributor and former lapd detective. mark, thank you for being with us tonight. your thoughts on where you start as a detective to figure out what really happened here. >> well, megyn, it's one case the same as the next. but when you have money and control of multiple people, it becomes more difficult. but everything is pretty much the same. when the police got there, they realized that the victim had expired. the coroner is called, medical examiner. now it's become an unexplained death because there's probably no ongoing illness and an attending physician that is willing to say, this person had leukemia or this person had cancer, and i'll sign the death certificate. so it becomes a criminal matter, an unexplained death. at that point, and now they identify that it is prince, that it is somebody that could possibly have had other than a natural death, you have a criminal investigati

detective and dr. michael baden world renowned forensic pathologist. let me start with you, mark, they are going to know faster than a couple of weeks, are they not? >> i would suspect that they might have already done preliminary toxicology. i mean, you go to a hospital and you can get them in 15, 20 minutes. and i'm sure dr. baden will confirm a couple days on the outside, they will know. but they will also know by the condition of the body and the lack of any trauma to any organs or any circulatory problems. they might see a depressed respiratory system which might be overdose of opiate or opioid type percocet. >> doctor, do you think they know something on based on they did this morning autopsy. >> i think mark is right is that the toxicology they should know within a few days. but right now, today this morning's autopsy, they know whether there is any heart disease, any pneumonia, any blood clot head injury. they know whether or not whether it's present or not based on the autopsy. if they found nothing unusual, they can rule out natural diseases,

dr. michael baden is a forensic pathologist and fox news contributor. when this was breaking during my show yesterday, the real story out there was he had been suffering for weeks from severe flu. then a bunch of other details started happening like he had this emergency landing in illinois with his plane, and possibly tmz broke the story that he was given a save shot at that hospital. what's that? >> that's narcan which is an antidote for narcotic drugs. heroin, for mean, oxycodone can be overcome by the narcan. but it means that he had an overdose and it makes sense that the jet would land so quickly to go to the hospital because he was having an overdose of a narcotic is what harvey levin seems to have found out. now, today -- now the autopsy should be finished, and they know if he had any natural disease. they know if he had pneumonia, they know if he had heart disease or brain hemorrhage, all these innocent things that cause death would be able to be determined just from the regular autopsy. if so, they could release that and say he died of natural

dr. michael baden goes "on the record." good evening, sir. >> good evening, greta. >> i mean, it's so early. we only have a young man, 57, to claims to have -- complaints about the flu and now he is dead. where do you start on this? >> well, i think the autopsy may have already been completed today, if not today, tomorrow. and if it's a natural causes a it appears to be, it's probably going to involve the heart or the lungs, whether he had pneumonia that got worse, whether he had blood clots going to the lungs. whether he had some kind of heart disease, which is the most common reason a 57-year-old people die suddenly. will be able to be told by tomorrow at the autopsy. they will also do toxicology. one is was he taking any medications prescribed at the hospital or that he was getting from wal-mart. whatever. or other drugs that people can raise issues about the toxicology should be completed in a few days to evaluate that issue. and they will do microscopic slides to do if there is some heart disease or lung disease or eve
