lauren mayk with what's going on on campus today. you also got an update with police. >> i just got off the phone with radnor police. they tell me at this point they've shut down their operations center and sent everyone home. take a look. this is why. things have cleared out here at this intersection. the roads are open at this point, not even any police in sight here but let me show you what things looked like just a few hours ago. this turned into a huge celebration here, folks spilling out on the street wanting to just be together, celebrate the team's big win. and i can tell you, there were some arrests last night. when i just spoke with radnor police, seven people were arrested. things like some folks who were fighting. a lot of people out here to have a good time. folks out here are not just students but former students, including one we ran into that was here back in 1985. >> fabulous. ready to share. >> what was your reaction? >> i'm crying, it was crazy. i was on a text with my friends from '85. it was crazy. we're all as h

and lauren mayk spoke with security experts joining us from our digital operations center with a behind the scenes look. >> jim, i also talked to a mall representative about how their security worked and helped law enforcement to bring this baby home. from inside the mall today we could see the surveillance that is part of their system. mall management didn't want to talk on camera but sent me a statement they have what they call state of the art protocol inside and out and their emergency procedures were quote operationalized instantly. i talked to that security expert. you may not realize where all of that security is. cameras that caught this image but beyond that, even into the parking lot. >> they have things designed, example you can't leave directly from the mall. maybe the car is channelled to go a certain way because they don't want you to leave from all different areas. that's in the design, that's security in the design. >> might not even know that's there. he tells me it appears in this case the security system here worked as it was supposed to, helping to bring that baby ho

nbc 10's lauren mayk is live in villanova. for a time, area roads were closed to make sure everybody had a safe place to celebrate. >> we saw the roads opening this morning as we drove here. we were able to get down county line road. right now, this campus is in cleanup mode. most of the activity we're seeing it from street sweepers. all that trash over there, that's going to have to all be cleaned up. that is all from that huge party. you can see some folks still out here celebrating. a lot of them, though, have made their way back home. let me show you what this place looked like last night. it was loud. it was packed with people celebrating this huge win. now, there were a few issues, some things set on fire, small things, including a couch at one point. police, they did have fire extinguishers on hand, though, they were prepared for those things. there were arrests, at least six people arrested, police tell us. for a lot of the crowd, though, this was a time to celebrate. >> that was the greatest thing ever. i'm a freshman

lauren mayk is live outside the courthouse where the suspect was arraigned within the last 30 minutes. >> reporter: 46-year-old mark storms faces two charges that could lead to more than 20 years in prison if convicted. video we just took within the last half hour here as he arrived at the courthouse to be arraigned, facing a felony voluntary manslaughter charge for the death of 27-year-old robert braxton and reckless endangerment for shooting that gun inside church. the montgomery county d.a. sayings robert was agitated and disruptive sunday after someone apparently told him he had taken someone else's seat. church officials came over but let him stay there and d.a. says that's when mark storms came over with a gun and says the victim punched him in the jaw, then storms shot him twice. >> this is a situation where a gun is introduced into a fistfight. the victim has no weapon him, and, therefore, it would be unreasonable for self-defense to lead to no charges in this. >> reporter: the d.a. read mark storms came over in addition to the gun also had some type of badge that went with hi

. >> lauren mayk followed up with mess and found out why. getting answers may take time. >> after reunion and arrest, police are still working on this case. the police chief tells me today investigators were meeting to go over the next step in the investigation. this is the image you saw as she left the mall, a suspect caught on camera leaving with a baby. but what if you went back in time. what would you find? that's what upper merion police are after. the police chief tells me they will take a closer look at cameras to see what amoore did. the mom says the woman approached them, followed them to the food court. when the mom was distracted took off with the baby. the image shows a woman walking out of the mall but the chief says they will look at what happened inside. that day's tape has already been saved. and officers will work with the mall's system of cameras to map it out. 32-year-old amoore claims two months ago she delivered a baby who died. they haven't confirmed that. but we've also learned how they will go about determining if it'

live in center city, lauren mayk, "nbc 10 news." >> now to the celebration is over, nbc 10's tim furlong is monitoring that mass exodus from smer city. >> tim, are you seeing big problems at this point? >> reporter: i have good news and bad news. here is the bad news, getting around city hall is tough because the good party we had, there is a big cleanup and you can see they blocked off the area east of market so 18th and market over to city hall blocked off as they clean up. the good news is the subway system, the trolley system, they are prepared for this, and you can see there's a lot of police presence here. there are still a lot of villanova fans like this family here that came in for the parade, they are still here. here's the good news. you go to suburban station which is a lot of where a lot of the villanova fans go to get westbound out of town, back to the main line, that area is -- they had special people in red t-shirts navigating people through. and i also talked to a septa police chief who basically tells me he thinks a lot of people either are staying late and going to dinn

now live in south philadelphia, i'm lauren mayk, nbc news. >> they say politics makes strange bedfellows. >>> senator cruz 4e8d a campaign rally in indiana this morning. the senators spoke to supporters at a winery in the southeastern part of that state. indiana's one of the states where cruz is focusing his attention. governor kasich has shifted resources away from indiana to clear the path for cruz. the senator spoke about that, the agreement, just a short time ago. take a listen. after discussions with the kasich campaign, we made a decision about allocating resources. we decided to allocate our time and energy and resources on the state of indiana. governor kasich decided to allocate his resources elsewhere. i think that made sense from both campaigns. >> cruz's rival, donald trump, will be in our area this afternoon. he's holding a campaign rally at westchester university a little later. on the democratic side, both candidates will be in our area today as well.
