matt ackland joins us now from the scene. matt? >> reporter: hi, tony. this investigation has been under way for about four hours now. i'm going to step out of the way so you can take a look at takoma park police there. at the lobby of the apartment complex. it's called the cambridge. we are told that this all took place right around 2:00 today. i want to take you to some video and tell you what we've learned from investigate torso far. they responded here this afternoon after getting a call. they found a man downstairs near an elevator. apparently he had been stabbed. upstairs at an apartment they found a woman who was pronounced dead. we're told no entry here at the apartment complex. the chief says there appears to be some kind of connection between the two stabbing victims, although he would not elaborate. he says it does not appear to be a random act of violence and the people who live in this area should not be concerned about their safety. take a listen to the chief. >> the investigation reviled there was another victim in an apartment suffering f
