we had heavier rain in northern and northwest new jersey moving through sparta and seeing the heavier rain right now. we're looking at a half inch to one inch per hour out of this system. future temps and radar show that most of the heavy rain sweeps through during the afternoon period which is good news for the yankees game, however, it will still be unsettled. first pitch at 4:00 so that rain continues to push through and another band possibly arriving before the end of the game and we'll start to clear things out for the mets opener tomorrow morning we're looking at a few light showers moving toward us and then look at this. so white in the catskills and colder air on the approach and you could see a sprinkle for the mets game, but overall it will be dry and much cooler and first pitch against the phillies and 1:10 p.m. and a temperature of 41 degrees at citi field. looking ahead past that the cold air continues and we could see some snow showers and maybe a light accumulation of snow on saturday with the high temperature of only 42. it remains breezy behind this system on sunday.

sparta is up to 34. west orange has 43. it's a very rapid climb because of the bright sunshine. have beautiful weather. looking back to the 12th, we have been trending this above average line nicely, and today we get into the low 70s. it doesn't stop there. warmer temperatures expected for tomorrow. on accu track, we look for changes, any potential weather patterns that would shift what we have, and it's just not happening. the rest of the weekend looks really good. no showers or anything else to slow down the warm up. for that reason, we go with temperatures in the low to mid- 70s today, and near 80 degrees tomorrow. it's also a very nice dry spell where we won't have rain for the next couple of days. the car wash is on. that's for sure. the next couple of the days, you've got beautiful conditions. 10 to 15 degrees above normal. and the only wrinkle is cooler at the coastline because of the sea breeze. a northeast wind, we'll see that at the ballpark. game time at 1:05. beautiful day for the yankees to play. for sunset times, this is something that we look at as we towards a ne

the 24 hour temperature change looks like this. 24 degrees warmer in sparta. it is 6 degrees warmer in babylon. visibilities are down, especially in babylon, hamptons, well below that mile marker. as e look to the west skies are more visible. on the vortex satellite and radar picture this morning, showers to the south, showers to the east, this will be the general trend. we'll just have kind of some waves of showers lifting on through. right now it doesn't look to be anything too heavy. as we head into the evening hours, that will change. on to the wet weather moving through ocean county at this point in time, and all of it associated with a cold front. back end of the cold front is out here over the ohio valley. it is moving to the east. this is what has the potential to bring us some thunderstorm activity later today. showers for much of the days. then as we head to the evening drive time this looks to be the strongest stuff, best bet for stronger storms to mover through then. skies partially clear tomorrow. we're in for another round of maybe some showers.
