a toddler chasing after a ball was struck and killed by an ac transit bus this afternoon. kpix 5 reporter christin ayers is live at the scene right now. christin, what do we know? >> reporter: well, so far, oakland police aren't releasing a lot. they towed that ac transit bus a short time ago from this street where that 2-year-old was hit saying that the boy was chasing a ball when he darted into the street in the path of the ac transit bus. his family is grieving tonight. the 2-year-old boy's name is jeremiah asera one of four children. his family one of the people said they were visiting family on this block and he was playing outside supervised with someone when he darted into the street. oakland police are saying it's still unclear who exactly was at fault, whether the bus was speeding or any of those factors. they didn't release much information but here's what they said earlier. >> this is a tragic sad loss for the family and for the community. officers and first responders on scene were heartbroken by this incident. >> reporter: now, we did speak to an ac transit sp
