abc 7 news reporter, amy holyfield is live. you spoke with the elections director. what is he expecting today? >> reporter: he's spencer a surge of people today, natasha. he thinks it will hit 515,000 registered voters, which would be an all-time high information voters in san francisco. it's not exactly an easy stop to fold into the rush of monday morning. but those who made it to san francisco's city hall this morning to register to vote said they are very motivated to get here. >> i think it's very important for the millennials, and just coming to this country as a first generation, being able to work and go to school and get an education, i think it's really important to put in our two cents. >> i've got to do my part. and i'm a voice heard. >> reporter: san francisco and most other bay area counties will stay open until 8:00 tonight so you can register. >> we'll be just inside the door. so if anyone wants to swing by, we can run outside, grab a facilitator of registration right there at the door to city hall. >> reporter: you can also register online until midn
