i am chris nguyen. let's start with the forecast. here's lisa argen, tracking live doppler 7. >> hey, chris, you can see no fog to speak of at all. plenty of sunshine. as a result, temperatures have cooled considerably. and numbers have dropped into the 40s from the coast to our inland east bay. right in the middle is oakland and san jose, mid and upper 50s. look at this beautiful shot of the peninsula, 50 in nevada, 53 in con card and hurricane matthew, category 1, lashing the coast of georgia and the carolinas. we've had 12 inches of rain in savanna, now dealing with the storm surge. and the latest radar shows a tornado warning for wilmington, north carolina, and myrtle beach, 60 mile an hour wind gusts sustained along the carolina coast. you can see the winds pushing that water along the coast. we'll talk more in detail about the hurricane and our weather coming up, chris. >>> lisa, thank you. sad news to report. breaking news. abc 7 news has just learned the woman who was severely beaten do you remember a robbery last month in sa

abc 7 news reporter chris nguyen joins us live at the fire zone with the latest. >> and we're not too far from where that marijuana bust took place. we just received word that the man allegedly responsible for the marijuana grow operation has been booked into the santa clara county jail. here's a picture of him on your screen. his name is yariv dorr and according to the sheriff's office he's being charged with cultivation and possession of marijuana for sale. in the santa cruz mountains a large marijuana bust on loma prieta. today members of the santa clara county marijuana eradication team served a search warrant at a house on chiquita road. this view from sky 7 shows a man in handcuffs. >> in many these operations a lot of this is very rudimentary so not up to code. >> on the property, two greenhouses still intact. a total of 89 plants recovered, some as tall as 12 feet weighing more than 40 pounds apiece. cash and scales as well as packaged marijuana were also found. the loma fire which was likely started by a marijuana grow has burned more than 4,400 acres in the past week and a h

i'm chris nguyen. it is saturday, october 15th. we're going to start with the first look at the forecast. here's lisa argen with the first look at live doppler 7 for us. >> good morning, we're going to show you the storm impact scale. we have a two coming your way, which means it is a moderate storm. which will bring any where from a tenth to an inch of rain and the wind will impact us as well. it will get going this afternoon and you can see the heavy rain along the north coast, it sinks to the south. wind advisory, 2:00 this afternoon until 2:00 in the morning. the winds will gust to 50 miles an hour, sustained over 25. so a coastal flood advisory tomorrow, as the high tide coincides with the full moon, but look at the wave heights, 12 to 14 feet. sunshine outside here in san francisco, upper 50s, low 60s in gilroy. no delays at sfo. forecast for the rest of the day, mainly dry skies through noon, and we'll time out the rest on the peninsula, east and south bay in a couple of minutes. >>> breaking news out of the east bay. the ch

chris nguyen is live at city hall with the story. chris? >> reporter: dan, that meeting will start at around 6:30 tonight. hundreds of concerned citizens are expected to attend. many of them pleading for compassion from the commission. for residents in milipitas and fremont an ongoing problem that they say has become almost unbearable. >> it's a very pungent smell, and it's one of the smells that you'll -- if ruff ever been to a chemistry lab you'll smell that. >> reporter: these neighbors point to the landfall at the privately one newby island recovery park. >> san jose is in charge of the landfill and we are here to suffer from it. >> reporter: two years ago the city of san jose approved a permit to increase the height of the landfall by nearly 100 feel and to extend the landfill's closing date from 2025 to 2041, but the city of milipitas filed an appeal prompted and odor study that took a little more than a year to complete. tonight the san jose planning commission should decide whether to accept or reject the appeal. >> the least they c
