monique braxton is live on ben franklin parkway to fill us in on what's ahead. monique? >> reporter: hey, rosemary, the philadelphia half marathon kicks off in about two hours. i can tell you security is extremely tight. we went through our own security sweep for our truck and other equipment. everyone is being searched. one of the private security firms told us they're monitoring social media. so far there have been no specific threats. they're advising runners to arrive early for start of the race. they say it will not be delayed due to lines at security check points. so take a look in case you missed it last year, this is what the streets of philadelphia will look like when runners embark on the 23rd annual race along ben franklin parkway and through the city streets. they estimate 60,000 spec at a timers ors are in the marathon race weekend. here's the half marathon course. goes through center city, past liberty bell and historic city hall, back through china town toward most of fair mount park in this area and to the finish line. spectators can watch that race in de

you saw deanna on the ben franklin parkway. as you can imagine, the area right around the art museum, that's shut down to drivers. also on our app we have inspirational stories about some of the runners who are participating in this year's marathon. >>> in other news we're getting a closer look at the details in the case against an accused repeat describer stalker in bucks county. shane holderer had been on probation for a 2013 guilty plea for stalking and harassing a teenage girl. bucks county prosecutors say the 55-year-old buckingham township man is at it again, using multiple accounts to post thousands of messages. investigators say some were sexual in nature. the messages mentioned the desire to be with a teenager and included personal details. police took control of the teen's accounts, and set up what holderer thought would be a meeting at a coffee shop. instead an officer showed up and arrested him. holderer pleaded guilty as i mentioned in 2013 to similar charges. >>> a follow-up to a story you saw all over your social

nbc 10's deanna durante is live along the route on the ben franklin parkway. >> good morning, rosemary. we've moved to the finish line. we were coming to you earlier from the starting line. take a look as they're getting ready here. the marathon into its second hour. we can tell you that the first wheelchair athlete crossed the finish line in less than two hours. despite this chilly start to the day. and it was a little colder than yesterday. yesterday the half marathon people had 60-plus degree weather to run in. today it was a little chilly as they took to the starting line at around 7:00 this morning with the 20,000 runners taking part in this two-day event. and some of them say they trained all year for it so it doesn't matter what the weather is today, they were showing up. we have talked to runners from virginia, rhode island, even tucson, arizona. that are happy to run here in philadelphia, no matter the weather. >> it was a little chilly. the wind, but we'll be all right. we're hoping to huddle in the pack and try to draft a little bit. >> now again we've got an update just a l
