, florida, florida. tonight we have breaking news tonight about an important new tracking survey of early voters and likely voters in florida. this is the first poll in florida that includes actual early voters. how they have voted. so this poll is giving us a picture of the early voting results in florida right now. and if we can get data like this for only one state, florida is the state we want. florida is once again the most important state on the electoral map. because democrats and republicans all agree that hillary clinton has alternative routes to an electoral college victory that do not have to include winning florida, but donald trump, donald trump has no other way. it is virtually impossible to win the electoral college for donald trump without florida's 29 electoral college votes. florida is do or die for the trump campaign. and donald trump's campaign schedule proves that. donald trump has three campaign events tomorrow in florida. hillary clinton was in florida today, but tomorrow she will

if we can look at florida, florida is 1.2% difference, donald trump leading in the state of florida, 95% of the votes in, and it's too close to call. next, north carolina -- i should say ohio which we've been watching all night. this is a stunning number. 65% of all pre sengts are reporting it looks as if from a 10.5 point lead. it depends where the outstanding counties are, but we'll know soon enough. ohio is still too close to call. north carolina, 79% of all precincts reporting, donald trump is holding on to his lead. wake county, north carolina, still outstanding. that will be, most likely, a large hillary clinton difference, but he's winning there, and in the state of virginia, by .3% with precincts reporting, donald trump with a lead in virginia. the close tounts outside washington, d.c. which normally skew blue are yet to be tallied. ed rollins is here, dana perino is with us. what's the biggest surprise for you. >> if the spread is ten points in ohio -- he was favored to win ohio. clinton's polls must have been wrong earlier on, because they try to get that enthusiasm vote up

remember florida, florida, florida. 29 electoral votes are at stake. all of a sudden hillary clinton has a lead there. 30% of the vote is now in. let's go over to john king at the magic wall. i want to talk about florida. all of a sudden a big chuck of votes came in and she's doing well. >> a big chunk of votes from traditionally and very important democratic areas. miami dade, 61% to 36%. that is a small basket of votes from miami dade. that is the first dump of early votes from miami dade. just to compare this. this is one thing we're going to do all night. especially in florida. 61-36. back and look, 62-38. about the same. and just after you left, palm beach county came in. donald trump has said he'll do well here. this is where mar l-a-lago is. at the moment so much. we have a long way to go. so early votes being dumped in for the most part. let's see where we go through the night. that is what hillary clinton needs to do. 61 37. when you look at that back in time 58-61. right now in the very early results hillary clinton running up the percentages

in florida. marco rubio decided he would run for re-election at the last minute after losing the gop nomination. even in his home state primaries. he's facing democratic too close to call even with 80% of all precincts reporting. in new hampshire the republican senator kelly ayotte facing the democratic governor, maggie hassan. this one had been close but in the late going, kelly ayotte has made a big serge. only 6% of the vote are in. we're not able to call that. in pennsylvania, the republican senator pat toomey trying to hang onto his seat against the democrat katie mcginty. in illinois the republican senator mark kirk facing off duckworth. we have just called this. tammy duckworth is the winner in the state of illinois for the united states senate. now that is a pickup for democrats. that's one pickup on the night so far for democrats. tammy duckworth unseated mark kirk. not all together surprising. we sort of expected this but in a world where you need to pick up five if you're democrat, the

voting florida. i think that will help us break 2012 turnout levels in terms of miami-dade county, which is a huge powerhouse county for democrats. we can't win florida without running up the votes in miami-dade. you are seeing early vote in clark county, a huge democratic stronghold area. and even in a state like north carolina, which we think is going to be tight and probably going to be late to be called, where initially this was talk of a drop-off in african american turnout, we've not only made up gains there in the second week of early voting in north it with a surge, 83% increase in latino participation in early voting in north carolina. so i think that's going to be one of the emerging storylines tonight. >> pelley: bryan, another emerging storyline from our exit poll information is that donald trump is leading hillary clinton among white women in ohio, north carolina, georgia, and virginia. does that surprise you? >> this is a demographic that he was leading with from a very early point in t

florida. there is deep and abiding anxiety within trump tower about what they're seeing in florida because they know-- and have said over and over-- there is no trump path to the presidency without florida's 29 electoral votes, and they are deeply turnout for hillary clinton, plus a softening of suburban, college-educated women for donald trump. and in that reason, trump has urged florida supporters to get to the polls. and it's a two-tiered system in florida. 67 counties, 10 of them on the central time zone, and some of those counties don't close until 9:00 p.m. eastern. so that strategic urging from trump has real value in those counties opinion because mitt romney in 2012, cleared more obama. trump needs to find every vote he can in florida. hence, the urging of supporters to get there before the polls close. scott and norah. >> pelley: major garrett for us tonight. major, thank you very much. let's go over to nancy cordes, who is at the jacob javitz center here in new york city on the west
