the iowa senate. as kcrg tv9's dave franzman reports, she decided to get back into politics because of an issue with another "judge." patty judge, hit event in dubuque, says he was happy out of politics after losing a second term as governor chet culver's running mate in 2010. but something happened to change her mind. she saw senator chuck grassley's refusal to hold hearings on supreme court bi-partisan cooperation as he once was. the iowa department of health dubuque. and now it's trying to figure out what's behind the increase. dubuque schools say 20 students and staff members have come down with the mumps since t the school district asks students to stay home for five days after they experience mumps symptoms because it is commonly spread through coughing and sneezing. usually by six years of age, students will get two doses of the measles, mumps and rubella or m- m-r vaccine. but 13 to 15 year olds in dubuque for some reason, have a pretty low rate of immunization. only 57 percent of this age group is vaccinated. comparatively, black hawk county has 93 percent, linn has 80 and johnson has kcrg t-v nine's katie wiedemann has been looking into this. katie, are these low vaccination rates in dubuque causing the outbreak? the school district says it's not, they say all of the students who've had mumps, have in fact been vaccinated against it. school nurses in dubuque say they haven't dealt with a mumps outbreak in many many years. right now school s
