oakland police say this started in downtown oakland, this peaceful protest that grew to about 7,000 protesters and then police deployed teargas to clear the crowd. they're saying some groups began to assault officers with, as you mentioned, rocks, bottles, fireworks, even molotov cocktails. smaller grums vandalized businesses. the building we're in front of has tenants. we spoke to one of them just moments ago. >> so when someone does damage to a building like this, the way it affects me personally, all day i'll be thinking about, wow, another cause that is getting tainted, poisoned by the message trying to be expressed which is we are in disagreement of what has taken place, but that property damage to go alongside it is targeting the wrong people. >> now, much more peaceful protests happening in the castro in san francisco. hundreds gathering there to declare trump is not their president. many of them fearing the progress made on civil rights during the obama administration could be lost under a trump presidency. >> so much at risk here. people threw the baby out with the bath water here. th

body found in an east oakland park. just a few hours ago the police released the name of the victim san said she was missing since late wednesday. the victim is 21-year-old karla rameriz segoviano. an employer with the alameda sheriff's department and you see her in the uniform here. police provided an update. lee. reporter: well police say that a woman who karla rameriz segoviano considered to be a friend is being questioned for her brutal death. police have not released the names of the two suspects but they say two adults, a male and female from oakland are being questioned and interrogated and they will be charged with her murder. >>> the body of 21-year-old karla rameriz segoviano was found at arroyo viejo park. she had been stabbed multiple times and her body was burned after being lit on fire. >> she was suffering from some burn marks towards the upper portion of her body and she was pronounced on the scene. >> police have two people in custody. a man and a woman from oakland. who they plan to arrest today for he

retired oakland police sergeant had no answer accused of not reporting child abuse. johnson had a facebook chat in september with the daughter of an oakland dispatcher. according to d.a., she told johnson she had sex with other oakland police officers and told him not to tell anyone. he reportedly agreed not to. and the exchange was captured on a screen shot on her phone. investigators found another screen shot and she asked quote tell me you were an adult. she responds i'd be lying. attorney john burris represents. he said johnson could have put a stop to the abuse by coming forward. forward. if he had reported early when it came to his attention we may not have this wide- spread police entanglement we have. the city manager wants four officers fired for alleged misconducts and not just one officer as proposed. a sergeant and a lieutenant all faced suspensions received termination notices friday for what if city manager called egregious but not criminal conduct. >> i'm disappointed in the depave your -- behavior of these officers. it underminds public trust. it is i

a major problem out of oakland. breaking news, three people are dead after they're found in a burning home overnight. homicide detectives are there right now. so is our nbc bay area damian trujillo who is talking with investigators. what are you learning? >> reporter: still an active crime scene. dumbarton drive is not far behind me. the call came in just after midnight of a burning home on dunbar drive. when investigators arrived, they found three bodies inside the home. unclear if the deceased are related at some point or if fire occurred after the homicide. waiting for a spokesperson for the oakland police department to arrive on scene. several streets are blocked off here near dunbar drive. police are using some sort of three-dimensional equipment to kind of get a panoramic shot of the entire crime scene, adjacent streets and whatnot for investigative purposes. again, not a lot of other information, only that three people are dead on dunbar drive. police do have one person in custody they are questioning at poli
