live in denver, stan bush, cbs4 news. >> thanks stan. >>> happy ending tonight, two teenagers who disappeared in the mountains earlier this week have been rescued. local high school students matt smith and tommy hendricks summited to the mount of the holy cross in eagle county. that was monday evening. when their families did not hear from them tuesday, they ca after a two day search, a helicopter spotted the teams this afternoon. they got lost in a white out. >> they hit the summit 7:00 p.m. monday night. storms came in. and they were trapped by the storms. thankfully, they had equipment and experience enough that they were able to take pretty good care of themselves. >> the teenagers were found at an elevation of 12,000 feet. they were taken to the hospital in castle rock. police arrested a teenager who lived there. a special team of investigators went back to the home to finish the cleanup. eight neighboring homes had to be evacuated again. >> you don't like to hear something like that. not knowing that it was going on, i guess is the big thing. you know. it just kind of makes you worry a

cbs4's stan bush is checking in live in denver tonight. stan, an ongoing problem, but, a fresh approach. >> reporter: and jim, because, next year is expected to be a banner year for the marijuana industry. and, this plan wouldn't take any money away from the education component of amendment 64. you can see this area right here is where there is usually a large homeless encampment. it has all been cleaned out recently. with this new proposal, it is possible to keep the area looking like this. the governor hopes marijuana is the solution to a homeless situation with no end in sight. pot revenues to housing and incentives to get people off the street. the state estimated more than 10,000 homeless people live in colorado. the money raised by marijuana revenues would directly help about 15% of that population. but, to do so, the governor would need to change language in the marijuana laws. to specify where the money is going. >> this is carving out another priority with the additional going into education. >> reporter: the aggressive plan the g

stan bush is on the scene near mlk and filmore. stan? >> reporter: that's right. we are at the intersection of 31st and filmore. scene. we do understand at least two people have been taken in an ambulance from this area. but, police are still looking for the suspect. you can see at least a half dozen cop cars here. this area is shut down for a block. and we understand that the shooting happened almost a block from our location. all the way down by that stop sign. right now, denver police have not made any arrests and they are still trying to get information on the suspect that was involved in this shooting. and we have seen officers going neighborhood trying to speak with anyone who might have been a witness or heard this shooting to try to get any information. in fact, you can see and hear some of the officers right now going from door to door trying to find any information. so, we are still waiting for an update from denver police on who might have been involved and how many people were involved. but when we have that information, we will give it to you. for now
