good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. that's right, police say the two people who were shot were the same two people who tried to rob a pizza place in levittown. one of those alleged robbers died at the scene. the other was taken to the hospital in serious condition. let's go to video from last night. this happened around 10:00 p.m. at the shopping center in levittown. it's on veteran highway near trenton road. police say two men each armed with handguns walked into the pizza shop planning to rob it. they told the three people inside to get on the ground. that was a customer and two employees. police say the men started pistol whipping the customer and that's when the tables turned. police say the customer then pulled out a handgun he was carrying and shot both of the robbers. one was shot in the chest and died at the scene. the other was shot in the shoulder and neck. hehe was taken to saint mary's medical center in serious condition and was going to be transported to jefferson for further treatment. one of the employees

light volume, tam. >> breaking this morning, out of mercer county. hamilton township police are on the scene of a homicide that happened overnight. katherine scott is live at the scene gathering details in the on going investigation. what do you know, katherine? >> reporter: well, tam, obviously a homicide as you mentioned in the neighborhood. police continue to investigate, just a few seconds ago, you can see them right now there are investigates taking photos of a car parked in the driveway. they have their flashlights out looking for more information. we have seen investigators go in and out of the home right next to it on g.enesee street. they continue to investigate. a number of police vehicles are on the scene. the circumstances surrounding the homicide is unclear. there's no word from police what the motive was or if they know who is behind it. the identity of the victim has not been released. the road is closed off for the homicide investigation, avoid the area as you hit the roads. investigators continue to process the scene, again we've see

good morning, annie. >> reporter: good morning, tam l i want to -- tamala. i want to show you the home. when police arrived around 4:45 to what they say was a one alarm fire they did see a woman on the second floor that was trying to escape. they were able to put a ladder up there and then rescue that woman. they do believe that the fire did happen in the second floor bedroom and that is where she was trying to escape. after they rescued her they brought her down. she then went next door to a neighbor and just about 15 minutes ago paramedics did arrive and they transported her over to the hospital just for precautionary measures for maybe a little bit of smoke inhalation i'm told but otherwise she was okay. they tell us there was only one person in the home at the time, the 63-year-old woman who they did rescue and they say that there were no other structures on this block, even though they're very close together, the row homes here, that were affected so at this point they say that this is under control. they did have a heavy response because they heard tha

good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. it's still early on in this investigation so we're still working to gather details but we do know a woman was assaulted and stabbed. we do not know her condition though we are being told that she is alive and you can see that police remain on the scene here. they've been on the scene throughout the night investigating this incident. the road is still blocked off. it happened around midnight here on the unit block of west monroe street in that mount holly and police say they were called to the scene to investigate. police say the victim was stabbed, she was bleeding from her head. she was airlifted to capitol health regional medical center and there was no word on her condition other than the fact that we know that she's alive. in terms of the circumstances of this assault and stabbing, what led up to it, what the motive was, that all remains under investigation. police haven't said if there are any suspects and the name of the victim has not been released but this morning, again, the
