anita, how is it looking there? >> good morning, jan, i don't have a poem for you, but i can also confirm that in the past 30, 45 minutes, the snow definitely come down a lot heavier. it was a little bit steady earlier this morning, as we were driving over here. but definitely has gotten worse over the past half hour or so. there is what my photographer and i are calling a healthy coating of snow on the ground, about quarter inch so far. and it is sticking to the ground. you will see a coating over your car. if you haven't yet used this morning, but we are actually seeing a lot of activity out here on the roads here on this main intersection near dekalb pike and 202. we are seeing, you can see the car coming now. we've actually been seeing many cars kind of going faster than usual, even in these conditions. a lot of people we we've spoken to over at this wawa next to us have told us this isn't real a big deal for them a lot of people are used to this kind of weather. they are taking it a little easier on the roads.

"eyewitness news" reporter anita oh, is live in kensington with their story. good morning, anita. >> reporter: merry christmas, that's right. this one family has lost a lot. but they are also gaining a lot thanks to the generosity of others. they will be waking up shortly and will be spending some time with them. meantime, they have kind of put out some of these holiday lights that you can see, these spectacular holiday displays that they have really tried to capture the meaning every christmas, as i said, they did lose a lot in a house fire. this is their grandmother's home, and their two young boys, who will be celebrating christmas here, this morning, so i want to show you some video from the "joy of sharing" toyfest. which is what is benefitting them this morning. we collected over 6,000 toys, some of them will be benefitting this taylor family who lives inside here, will be waking up with them and spending this morning with them. but as i said, the mother is a single mother of two young boys, they lost everything recently in a house fire. and this toy dri

anita oh, live in frazier where investigators received big break in the case. anita? >> reporter: well, joe, rahel, that's right. authorities pulled that nissan al team a from a & p auto body shops here behind me after the owner reportedly called in about suspicious car with heavy front end damage, matching the description of the one involved in a hit-and-run that killed eight year old jayanna powell in overbrook about two weeks ago, take a look at a photo of the suspected driver of that car, paul wood hands -- woodland, 24 years old, they don't believe he's the owner of the car. for a week jayanna's pleaded for him to come forward, as he hit the girl walking home from school and kept going. happened in west philadelphia, at 63rd and lansdowne avenue. and this auto body shop where authorities found the car about 30 miles away from that accident scene. the fraternal order of police and the mayor's office had offered a combined $25,000 reward for any information leading to arrest, we spoke to commissioner richard ross this morning about the tip that led them to the susp

"eyewitness news" reporter anita oh is live from media with more information on the investigation, anita? >> reporter: jessica, it is a blood trail, and along with dna evidence leading from yeadon to philadelphia that led police to the suspected kill shore has been arrested, arraigned and being held without bail. take a lot his mug shot now he is 37 year-old byron allen who has been charged with murder and robbery in the death of three two-year old natasha gibson. authorities say gibson was a random target as she walk to a friend's home from an upper darby home on september between the second. she made it to the steps on the 600 block of bailey road when allen allegedly stabbed her at least 20 times, and sliced her throat with the stake knife severing her vocal cord and trachea. he has been link to sexual assaults in kensington from april through october. jack whalen says these are crimes of rage. >> there is probably the most dangerous criminal i have ever seen in my years here in delaware county, as the district attorney. >> reporter: allen has a lengthy criminal record that spans more
