. >> and i'm jim rosenfield. nbc10's denise nakano is joining us live from police headquarters. denise, what did the victim's son tell you? >> well, jim and jacqueline, he tells me his mom has had a license to carry for 20 years and has never had to use her gun until this morning. that's when she came under attack during that robbery. >> she always has a gun on her. >> the son of the most recent armed victim spoke exclusively with nbc10 outside his family's home. his mother, a daycare owner, came under attack as she was walking into a save allot grocery store. >> you know where she came up from, which is west philly. >> reporter: she's the latest in a series of rob rberies where t victim turned the gun on the robber. in this instance, the bullet ricocheted and struck a star security guard in the shin. police later arrested the alleged robber, who they say had the victim's purse and cell phone. the 51-year-old victim had a permit to carry a firearm, as did the owner of a southwest philadelphia auto body shop when he shot an armed robber in the chest saturday. then hours later, a

i'm jim rosenfield. denise just arrived at the crash scene in millville, cumberland county, what is the latest. >> reporter: we got here in the past 25 minutes and that is the closest we could get to the scene. two miles north of the accident and it is shut down at route 49. we were over route 55 in millville, cumberland county, where you could see two heff illy damaged cars. new jersey state police confirm one of the troopers was involved in a deadly crash with another vehicle. now the mangled wreckage is located about two miles south of route 49 in millville and the crash happened around 7:30 in the northbound lanes. the road continues to be shut down as investigators continue to monitor what happened in this crash. and a woman did die in the other vehicle. now the trooper was flown to cooper medical center and is fighting for his life and listed in critical condition. the cause of the crash remains under investigation and it is unclear how long it will take before this road, route 55, reopens. live in

. >>> jim rosenfield. we begin with that breaking news in the lehigh valley. a block in allentown forced to evacuate when several row homes caught fire tonight. nbc10's keith jones is joining us live on the scene together. what's the latest there, keith? >> reporter: jim, i just talked to a homeowner. all he could do was look me in the face and shake his head and walk away. i want to show you what's going on behind me. stepping out of the way, look at all the fire trucks here. dozens of firefighters just beyond the smoke and the haze and the police tape. and if you pan over to the right, what you can start to see is where the active flames are currently and how firefighters now are stoking them at the top of the fielding. firefighters are hitting the flames from at least six different locations. at least a dozen fire trucks here. at least six row homes are involved. this is north fulton as six families, 12 people according to the red cross. they warn those numbers could be preliminary, and they're low. we got here hours ago. this fire started around 8:00 in th
