that's where our steve keeley is this morning. steve? >> reporter: yes, right in prominent spot, corner of tomorrow many son and frankford, where it meets this corner rowhouse, essentially, built into an apartment building. really nice area. there is not one sign after fire here. you see the flashing light from the police car out front just because they are hold willing the scene here. but, this was a very small fire. and this is a third floor bedroom where this 50 year old man was killed by the fire. and other tenants in there had no idea anything was wrong, until they heard the smoke alarms, usually smoke alarms, not present, means, we have people dying. here's a case where we actually have working smoke detectors, and even that, unfortunately, for some reason, did not get this man up and out. so there are could be other factors at play here. but it makes fire death 21 already in 2016. i point out that number because after 2515, the lowest number of fire deaths in philadelphia history, at just 12, we're getting close to almost doubling

we've got steve keeley on this one, over at police headquarters, so, steve, what do we know at this early hour? >> she was in the right place at the right time. she was doing everything legally. she was just sitting in her car going by the traffic laws. sitting waiting for a light to change. and she ends up getting killed. two guys who tried to kill other guys in another car with their guns ended up killing her with her car. she is an innocent 56 year old woman, driving her kia sole, waiting for the 52nd and locust lights to change just past 7:00. you see in video one, a black nissan going through that red light, smashed into the kia, which you now see here in video two, got thrown up against another car and pushed up on to the sidewalk. the 56 year old woman pronounced dead within the hour at 8:10. the two guys inside the nissan only hurt slightly in the police words in this crash. not hit by the earlier gunfire. although, their nissan has bullet holes in it. and inside the nissan, police find a 9-millimeter gun with a extended magazine, that holds many bullets, that police got surveilla
