nbc 10's matt delucia is live in new town bucks county to tell us about the developments that happened over the past few hours. >> reporter: the bucks county district attorney, rosemary, called this a rape and a murder fantasy that was carried out. jacob sullivan was charged with homicide, rape and kidnapping among other crimes. take a look at video from early this morning. this is 44-year-old jacob sullivan at district court in newtown. arraigned just after midnight. accused of murdering 14-year-old grace packer. the court documents say sullivan and the girl's adoptive mother, 41-year-old sarah packer, beat, bound and gagged the girl and left her in the attic to die. the murder happened exactly six month ago today, in july. investigators say sullivan raped the girl, drugged her and left her in the attic, expectth her to die from the summer heat and the attack she endured. she was still alive. investigators say sullivan strangled and dismembered her body. she was reported missing by her adoptive mother. authorities say that report was made after grace was already dead. much of the deta

nbc matt delucia live for us at the scene. harrowing times inside this home. >>> >> reporter: right. the scene the clear. police still searching for one man that terrorized this family late last night. police left about an hour ago, but take a look at video here. nbc 10 was first on the scene as that family came out of the house and got into a car. exclusive video here, but police tell us that just before 11:00 last night, the family had just came home. the mother was putting four young girls to bed and 27-year-old father answer add knock at the door. two men forced their way in at gun point. homeowner was shot twice. also had a gun of his own. he shot one of the men in the head. that man died, but the other guide who did this ran away. police are still looking if for him. working on getsing surveillance video from the neighborhood. the rest of the family obviously shaken up, but uninjured. >>> although the homeowner was shot by perpetrator. we're still fortunate his wife nor any of the four children were struck by gunfire or

. >> nbc 10 matt delucia with central high school kids who are just about ready to board the bus or are they already on. >> they are already on, vai and tra tracey, on their way to washington. saw them off a half our ago. this will be a field trip they remember for the rest of their lives. take a look at video we just shot a little while ago. 25 students leaving central high school. the kids are serving as student reporters today. they're all in government class. today is about seeing democracy in action firsthand. some of them not yet old enough to vote. others perhaps did vote in the past election, but no matter what side they agree with politically, they are looking at this as a learning experience. now, i also spoke with a villa nova communication professor, doctor billy murray, heading to washington herself right now to participate and study the protest that unfold. >> i think when you're in times of soft of progressive change, you see a little less of that. people don't feel the need to be out as much. now, i think with the election and with all of the issues that have been raised

let's go now to nbc 10 matt delucia. live in montgomery county right now. >> driving around for two and a half hours. tell us what you're seeing. you can see just some wetness here. on the vehicle we did see some ice forming a little bit earlier in the morning. of course as we look at the pavement here, just wet on the roads right now. the rain is still falling. again, you have to be careful about some of the trouble spots. if the ground is below freezing, some of the cars we see glaze on the windshield. might want to get ice scraper out as you you head out the door this morning. we haven't seen much in the way of treated roads. haven't seen a lot of salt on the pavement of the parking lots here, b. again, as the morning progresses and warms up. might have too much difficult. seen people coming out and working early this morning. right over here in this parking lot. window washers here. going to have their work cut out this morning. the rain continues to fall here in collegeville. get back on storm 4 and keep following c

checking in again with matt delucia. see him in the next half hour. from the suburbs to the shore. nbc 10 katy zachry following the latest. >> reporter: hi, since i last saw you about a half hour ago. spoken top drivers and people who work in the area and everyone agrees. the winter weather this part of the region has experienced is pretty manageable. when you walk outside your door if you're headed to your car. untreated surfaces like grass or car hood. see about an inch of snow. really, really light. you can easily just brush it off out of your car with your arm, your hand: our your going to want your snow scraper this morning just to make things easier. now much of our drive was spent on the atlantic city expressway behind us. in the last half hour or so seen a little bit more volume coming down here earlier very few cars on the road. nice if you're up at this early hour and having to drive on these wet conditions. even with the added volume. the drivers i'm talking to say they aren't worried about conditions at all. they feel like the roads have been properly treated. any accum
