san jose we have storm ranger out, our mobile doppler radar. the rainfall we've seen today is some of the wettest weather since january 9. if you were thinking this was one of the strongest storms at least in the past month or so, you're definitely right. we do have some heavier pockets to the south. this will continue up into cupertino by 7:08 tonight. you can see spotty areas of rainfall here. it's trying to break up overall. what we're going to show you is the storm system is really on its last leg right now. sure it's consistent wet weather in the south bay but take a look up towards the north bay. things are beginning to dry out near santa rosa. and we peel s'll see this back move through in the next two tore three hours and then some drying. in terms of rainfall, phenomenal. in 24 hours, over an inch and a half in san jose, 3 1/2 inches in the santa cruz mountains, walnut creek close to 2 inches. what about when this finally gets out of here. i am sick of the rainfall too, you guys. you can see at 11:30 tonight we see it begin to break up

i want to show you storm ranger. this is mobile doppler radar parked on san bruno mountain. it's been picking up on rain that moved through overnight. now we see much of this activity pap tapering off throughout the day. still lingering spotty showers on the map. we'll talk about that freezing temperatures in parts of the north bay. we've had a little bit of wet weather moving through so with that freezing temperatures you want to watch out for icy spots that may develop on the roadways especially those bridges and overpasses. we are at 45 degrees in oakland and palo alto. san jose, 46 degrees. as we go into this afternoon, highs will reach into the upper 50s. 57 for danville and oakland and concord at 57 and 56 in san mateo. 55 in the mission district. and also 55 in novato. upper 40s and 8:00. a slight chance of rain. not everyone will see it. spotty showers moving through the peninsula as that moisture remains mostly offshore and also for the north bay you may see some rain moving through and if you're following me on facebook, i'll, of course, keep up to date on wet weat

you can see from storm ranger above. on the ground, the work continues to try to get electricity up and to get people back into their homes. probably one of the most startling images from the flood days has been the sight of 28 horses surrounded by water flowing from coyote creek. in some cases the horses had water up to their knees. desperation for the animal owners, of course, and a lot of anguish for viewers who saw it on tv. yesterday they went back out to try to see if they could move the horses. the waters were too rough. so they moved them to dry land. today finally success. scott budman joins us now. they finally got the horses out. what a relief. what kind of condition are they in? >> reporter: they are in really good condition, jessica. the owners tell me that they are getting well fed. they look good. they feel good. they will be checked over the next couple of days by vets just to make sure. as you said, after a lot of anxiety, today a lot of relief as the horses made it to safety and dry land. the first hors
