lawrence karnow: there were plenty of clouds today but we're still waiting for the rain. tomorrow is the first day of spring but it's back to a winter-like pattern for the bay area. doppler radar is showing a few showers popping up in california. most of it has been light so far. we can even see a few raindrops in the bay area but most of that is evaporating before it hits the ground. highs today were in the 60s to low 70s again even with all of the cloud cover. you can see a couple of storms headed our way on the satellite inmage. the first one is rather disorganized but will intensify tomorrow after noon to bring rain and some gusty winds. the rain is expected to be rather light with this first storm but the next storm moves in late monday night into tuesday to bring heavier rain and maybe even some thunderstorms. winter storm watches are going up in the sierra monday evening to wednesday afternoon. the snow will start out very high at about 8,000 feet but lower to 6,000 feet by wednesday. they could see another 6 to 10 inches of snow. be careful if you're driving in th

meteorologist lawrence karnow is here to tell us when the heaviest rain will fall... lawrence.... it was another beautiful day with a mix of sunshine and clouds and mild temperatures. that is all about to change with a storm moving in for the weekend. we're already seeing showers in far northern california. the storm will slowly slide south overnight tonight. showers could start as early as tomorrow morning with steady rain developing during the late morning in the north bay and moving south into the afternoon. showers will continue on sunday with below average tempeartures. we could even see a few snowflakes on our highest bay area mountains. and we're expecting to one to two feet of snow in the sierra. tempeartures will be much cooler with highs in the 50s to low 60s. a few raindrops could linger into monday morning before a return to dry and warmer weather next week. happening tomorrow... supporters of the new president are heading back to one of the most liberal cities in america ... to express their first amendment rights. it is called a 'march 4 trump'. and it is a big rally

kron4 meteorologist lawrence karnow is here with what's ahead. lawrence karnow: the weather started to change a bit today with more clouds. but it was still muggy and warm for most of the bay area. that ridge of high pressure that brought you sunshine and temperatures well above average is now moving east allowing the clouds to move into california. in fact, you can see the clouds and showers in northern california on our doppler radar. right now we're dry in the bay area but ther are still plenty of clouds. temeratures cooled a littled today but some temperatures still managed to sneak into the low 70s in concord and livermore. big changes are on the horizon as clouds will increase to night with a chance of a few showers early tomorrow morning in the north bay. there will continue to be a slight chance of showers to the north on sunday while the rest of the bay area will see plenty of clouds. the first week of spring looks more like winter with a series of storms headed our way. you can see the storms lining up in the pacific now. and our future

this started around 1:30 pm friday, it ended a short time later on stevens creek boulevard on the lawrence expressway. please got a call about a naked man asking -- acting erratically and chasing an adult and child. police arrived and they said the suspect tried to drive off in a pickup and hit a parked car and patrol car. police chased it several miles until eventually he pulled into a shopping center parking lot. the police are saying he ignored their commands to surrender and pointed what appeared to be a weapon at them. the officers opened fire critically injuring the man, none of them were hurt. investigators are checking video from police body cameras. >>> governor brown asking the federal government for more money to repair damage caused by the february storms. the focus has been on storm damage from the oroville dam but 50 of california's counties were affected by flooding, mudslides and power outages. this is the 4th time the governor has made a request for emergency funds, the earlier requests have all been granted. >>> workers may soon be trained to stop heroin overdoses, the id

((steve)) meteorologist lawrence karnow is back with your complete forecast. lawrence karnow: it was so nice to see the sunshine today and the temperatures started to warm up too. you can see most of the rain has moved north now. i expect the jet stream to continue to lift northward as high pressure builds over most of california. we will still see a few high clouds sweep across our skies but other than that, it should be nice. if you're headed out tonight you can leave the umbrella behind but grab a coast since it will be cool. you can see this ridge of high pressure sliding over california warm our temperatures above average but we will still see rain in far northern california. the computer forecast model picks up a few clouds moving across our skies. and you'll notice a few patches of fog moving in along the coast. the weather looks great if you plan to head to lake tahoe for some skiing, the weather looks fantastic! there is plenty of snow and highs will be in the 50s. so a look around the bay area tomorrow and we'll find temperatures in the 60s and 70s.

i think, really, what needs to be focused on, lawrence, tonight, are the 17 days. the 17 days between the time that sally yates, as the acting attorney general went to don mccain the white house cancel who then told the president that mike flynn was lying to the president, between that time january 26 and february 13th, the day that mike flynn was forced out and fired, what happened during those 17 days. the reason why i raise that window of time is because that's what sally yates was to testify about today at the hearing that was suppose to happen today. she was going to tell the story of exactly what she told the white house and by all accounts, what she was going to say about those 17 days did not, at all, comport with the white house's official version. so we need to hear from sally yates, we need to have the gag order on sally yates lifted so she can tell the congress, the overseers of the american public, what happened. >> and jeremy bash, thank you for your invaluable experience and insight on this subject tonight. really appreciate it. >> thanks, lawrence.

lawrence karnow: it was a beautiful saturday with plenty of sunshine. but there is another storm on the horizon that will affect your weekend. we'll see plenty of clouds tonight with cool temperatures in the 40s. tomorrow we'll start the day dry but clouds will be increasing throughout the day leading to a chance of showers by the afternoon. todays highs were slightly below average but not by much. outside right now we're looking at partly cloudy skies. if you're headed out bring a sweater or light jacket as we're seeing a breeze and some cooler temperatures. on the satellite picture you can see the next storm headed our way. it continues to be quite the impressive rain season and it keeps going. the computer model shows the clouds moving in tonight but you'll notice it is mostly dry tomorrow morning. that will change in the afternoon as the cold front gets closer and rain begins to pick up in the north bay. rain will spread across the entire bay area late tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night. we can expect between a 10th to quarter of an inch of rain
