san mateo bridge at the limit. drive time are at the limit for wb 4 sb 680 wb 580 and nb 101 a local lawmaker is proposing new legislation that could cause some problems on the roads. it would allow bicyclists to ride through stop signs without stopping. assemblyman phil ting of san francisco just introduced the legislation. the measure would make it legal across california for bicyclists to use a stop sign as a yield sign. he says police already don't generally crack down on riders who ignore the stop signs. some commuters say they think it will make traveling safer for both drivers and bicyclists. "i find that if everyone uses the rolling stop on the bicycle especially the popular lanes, it's almost a safety feature for yourself because otherwise people are trying to swerve out" the idea behind the legislation is that riders will slow down enough to make sure the intersection is safe. people on the opposing side think it is dangerous for pedestrians and will encourage bad habits. if passed, bicyclists will still
