we got rain right now, the first round overnight mainly over in south jersey. light nuisance stuff in the southeastern pennsylvania area. but new castle delaware and parts of south jersey still trying to get rid of steadier cells popping through off and on and maybe a ponding and puddling. a flood watch kicks in at noon. overall in these areas, anywhere from an inch and a half to two and a half inches of rain and there's a concern not only of flooding on roadways but maybe creeks and streams being comprisedly if you're driving on roads and they get flooded don't drive through them. if you're walking, you don't walk through them. can't say that enough. we'll probably be repeating that warning a couple of times through the spring when we get the heavy rounds of rain. a winter weather advisory until 6:00. that's because of freezing rain in the elevation around the poconos and there could be a issue of freezing rain sleet and snow. 40 is your current temperature in philadelphia. feels kind of raw out there. there's a little bit of a breeze coming in off the ocean.

. >>> now to that breaking news out of south jersey. take a look at the damage caused by a car that slammed into the house in salem county this morning. it happened in penns grove where police were chasing the driver of that car before arrest. >>> nbc10's katy zachry is live at the scene. katy, a search under way? >> reporter: yes, vai and rosemary. they are looking for the driver who did this. that's because, as you said, he ran from the scene here behind me. he didn't just leave the scene, but he left an injured person inside that car. now, the couple who lives inside this home on east line street in penns grove we're told is okay. they're in their 70s. and they were in a different part of the house when this happened according to their son. police say that they tried to stop the dark colored sedan earlier in the night, but the driver kept going, so a chase ensued and it only came to an end after the car crashed into the sides of this house. officers say five people were inside the car. and a girl sitting in the front seat slammed her

and in delaware, south jersey and philadelphia. some people are digging out, others are clearing ice and others are struggling to get around. landedy gyllenhaal is tracking the digout in allentown, and glenn "hurricane" schwartz has the forecast, but rosemary connors has the latest on the road being shut down. >> we are outside the loews hotel. they put up the caution tape and signs in front alerting people to the falling ice. now they're keeping everybody away from the sidewalk. but unfortunately the only option is to walk in the street close to the barricades. that's their best bet at this point. no reports of injuries. the city is asking owners to keep an eye out for ice that has been accumulating. the storm is over, but this falling ice can be dangerous so they want to make sure everyone is safe. back out here on the ground, a philadelphia police officer is patrolling here. just making sure everybody is following the order and caution to stay off the sidewalks and stay awayed from the falling ice. i'm rosemary connors, nbc 10 n

it starts off in south jersey. at 4:00 a.m. we'll be on the air, the snow will pick up in intensity, by or before dawn we'll get heavy snow in spots. this particular model showing the rain/sleet line in south jersey, at that point. we advance this to 9:30, see what changes some of the milder air pushing in, we get rain in south jersey, but the sleet line is boarding near the i-95 corridor and that's really key that will bring down the numbers as we see the sleet mixing in more so in the city. this all depends on where the low sets up, if it is hugging the coastline, we'll get the sleet in the city mixing with the heavy snow at 9:30 a.m. tuesday. advance this to lunchtime, we see more sleet coming in, before the snow comes back in. it is mix of sleet and rain. tonight, first flakes fly around midnight. down midday to tuesday, that's the steadiest and heaviest. tuesday afternoon the snow tapers off. we're expecting 4 to 8 inches in gloucester, camden, burlington county, less along the coastline. along the i-95 corridor and immedi

as you look at this you can see that rain that's heavy right there in south jersey. katherine scott has been reporting saying it's pouring rain and it is through sea isle city fortescue millville and up towards hammonton and glassboro so farther north than we had looked at before and you see that area of icing along the new jersey turnpike t be careful traveling through gloucester and camden county. the i-95 corridor, the area of blue route that's the sleet that's mixing in with this so that's reducing the numbers now as the totals but it is still snowing in west chester malvern norristown as you're coming from there. farther north and west it's heavy snow in reading in allentown as you're traveling there, you really need to be careful. so matt pelman as you're commuting it depends drastically region by region as to what kind of weather you're driving in. >> we're seeing that in the traffic camera. some have completely snow covered roads and there's some like this where you can see blacktop but it's also very slushy karen. this is the schuylkill is the vine. of truck
