some escaped from the balconies of their third story apartments here's fox5's alexandra limon. cellphone video captured by neighbors shows the flames shooting out of the apartment windows and ripping out of the building, thick smoke filling the air. incredibly the family who lives in the apartment where the fire started got out safe limit neighbors witnessed the or deal as a woman and her kids outside my balcony and i ' her and the whole family out there. the next thing i see guys running up. she's taking her kids over the balcony, the third floor. people was catching her kids. other neighbors described similar thieves. ma keen was one of the people who captured video on his cellphone and says another woman was also trying to climb off her balcony on the back side of that building. she was crying. she was asking for help. the fire, the woman who lives in the apartment where the fire started tells fox5 she plugged in a lamp and when she came back it was on fire. her home was reduced to rubble and ash and she was too shocked to speak on camera. it's a bad thing that we had a fire
