vianey is here with a check on that forecast ahead. you said the maps show we may be getting a quick band of rain. >> that's right. right now it might all seem very calm, overcast skies but we're expecting to see a chance for showers pushing through especially in the north bay and san francisco along the peninsula as well. another thing you'll notice is that we are waking up to chillier temps than what we've seen especially for spring. 39 degrees for santa rosa, san francisco 49 and even in san jose also in the 40s. santa cruz mountains at 43 degrees. here's the band of showers i'm talking about. the majority is still sitting off shore but over the next 1 1/2 to 2 hours that is expect to push in and that's going to bring with it a line of quick moving moderate to heavy downpours and it's going to move mainly from the north to the south and that's also going to bring a possibility of seeing isolated thunderstorms. you can actually see that right now on the doppler radar sitting just off shore. now your highs for today, we are expecting

i'm vicky nguyen alongside vianey arana. a lot of people will be outside this morning hoping they don't have to bring the umbrellas out. >> you might have to. we're staying dry. the driest part of easter sunday is going to be right about now and within probably the next hour. right now the temps in the 40s. coast line in the 50s. it does look like the north bay is expected to see some light rain first and then it will become widespread by early afternoon. if we take a live look at the doppler radar, you can actually see the system sitting off shore. the good news, it's not a very strong system so we're not expecting too much rainfall from this. less than .10 of an inch. just under half of an inch, closer to a quarter in areas of the north bay and maybe the coast line. all in all it's going to be very light rain, periods of on and off again showers. unfortunately we are expecting that to become widespread at about 11:00. typically from what i remember, that's the time people are getting out of mass. >> thank you so much. >>>

let's turn to forecaster vianey arana, and right in time for the commute. >> exactly. which means if you get out of work around 4:00 or 5:00 it will be really bad out there, especially with ponding water. make sure to turn on headlights and windshield wipers. right now heading out, peninsula might see rain on and off, the south bay not seeing too much aside from clouds in the area. 56 in san francisco. here is the main reason why we're issuing this microclimate weather alert ahead of tonight's arrival. we are expecting the doppler radar, can you see that's from off-shore, this is the same system that is expected to bring widespread rain to southern california by tonight, into tomorrow as well. now, san francisco and san rafael area have seen a few hours, but we're also expecting to see at about 5:00 is an increase in the winds which could gust up to 50 plus miles per hour. we can actually see that coming at about 5:00, 6:30, still focusing on north bay. through that evening commute until about 9:00 it becomes widespread reaching all the way down to the south bay. so de
