cosmo dinardo named as a person of interest in the case just released from jail a few hours ago. people who know him, floored over this case. we have team coverage tonight on fox 29. our chris o'connell talked to stunned neighbors but we begin with our dave schratwieser. dave? >> reporter: dawn, investigators tonight turning up the heat. we have learned fox 29 news has learned that today the parents of cosmo dinardo the person of interest in this case received subpoenas to appear before a grand jury later this week. >> we've been in touch with them. >> reporter: sources say antonio dinardo and his wife have been subpoenaed to appear before a county grand jury thursday morning as the fire storm swirling around their 20-year-old son cosmo intensifies. >> i want to be very careful to stress that he is a person of interest. he has not been charged or arrested with respect to any of the missing four young men at this time. >> reporter: sources say the spotlight is being shifted to dinardo's parents as investigators want to question them under oath about their son's actions last weeken

dinardo joined by his cousin sean kratz now under arrest and claims kratz shoots him with dinardo's mott's handgun. kratz denies it. dinardo shoots fin pin while on the ground. he tells investigators thomas meo and mark sturgis are slain on the seventh of july. they, too, end up at the corn field where dinardo she's meo with a pistol and sturgis as he runs. >> what makes him kill these people? why does he want want to shoot them. >> jeff, i don't know that. i'm not really sure if we could ever answer that question. >> reporter: all the killings are linked to pot deals says the da. dinardo says he dug a 12-foot common grave with a backhoe and drops them in after placing them in an oil tank. he also tried to burn the bodies. arraigned today both men are charged with multiple counts of murder and conspiracy. cosmo dinardo will not be put to death. da says it's how he located jimi patrick's body. >> your belief is had you not opened the deal of no death penalty you don't get patrick's body? we'd still be looking. i know that much. i can't predict the future, but that is what i believe. >> repo

dinardo then shot patrick and used the backhoe to bury his body. then on july 7th dinardo agreed to sell dean finocchiaro marijuana but first picked up his cousin sean kratz. the two planned to rob finocchiaro and dinardo gave kratz a hands gun belonging to his mother. they take him to the property where kratz shot him in the head could, to dinardo. on july 7 dinardo meets up with tom meo and sturgis. may meo's car is left on aqua tong road. dinardo shoots meo in the back and sturgis is shot as he runs away. dinardo then runs meo over with a backhoe. all three bodies are placed a metal tank. the next day dinardo and kratz return to bury the tank 12 feet underground using the backhoe. weintraub says the victims family showed tremendous strength as investigators worked to bring their loved ones home. >> i hope that i'm never in their shoes but if i ever were, i play prey that i could handle this with the courage and the dignity that they've exhibited. >> reporter: now the d.a. also said that dinardo's confession led investigators to his alleged accom

why did dinardo committees murders? a source tells fox 29 a motive may be related to a drug deal, gun, co-worker of victim dean finocchiaro says it is just not fair. >> i'm mad, i'm mad that dean was taken away, somebody actually decided to take him away from the world. he was one of the funniest guys i have ever met. he was always friendly. always had a smile on his face always willing to give thaw smile if you didn't have one and just fun to be around. great guy to work with. >> the world didn't deserve that. his family here, didn't deserve that. >> reporter: despite his confession cosmo dinardo has not yet been officially charge we are waiting to hear from the district attorney expected to speak at an 11:00 a.m. press conference. last night we heard a second person of interest was taken in custody, our steve keeley is following that side of the story, steve. >> reporter: no surprise to our daily viewers i reported all yesterday morning that a source real close to this investigation says that no what i did one man kil

we know this accused accomplice through the dinardo lawyers admission about the confession helped dinardo in three of the four killings and we now know there are two separate graves on the dinardo properties this accomplice helped set three of the bodies on fire and then bury them underground 12 feet down. fact that they were burn likely one only one has been positively identified so far. don't be surprised if you hear dinardo being taken back up in legal irons, cuffs to pinpoint where that second gravies, the authorities cannot find it on their own. based on his description, directions hopefully they will find it on their own but from a philadelphia police source fox 29 news has learned that this accomplice has a criminal history here in philadelphia and already a previous shooting his own shot just four months ago, in march. a couple of his arrests we're told for drugs up in bensalem and his home, in the too far from bensalem, in fact, from dinardo's house in bensalem just a 20 minute, 13-mile drive, karen and thomas. >> details are horrific. you cannot believe, allegedly what occurred.

dinardo and kratz being held without bail tonight. bucks county district attorney says dinardo is charged with killing four men, kratz three of them. prosecutors say the victims were shot and buried at the hands of those two men. >> jeff cole reports on the grizzly details emerging about the solebury slayings. >> reporter: for days the bucks county da met reporters in a lot not far from the corn field where the search for the missing was on going. friday, the setting was county offices. >> we've brought four young men one step closer to their loved ones and so they can that rest in peace. >> reporter: according to cosmo dinardo's thursday confession, jimmy patrick the gifted college student on a full scholarship was the first to die. on july 5th he and dinardo went to the corn field where the 20-year-old says he shot him after a pot deal went bad with a 22 caliber rifle and buried him in 6-foot deep grave. next to be killed dean finocchiaro. also at the corn field a 20-year-old man now arrested and described as his cousin sean kratz s
